Intro/Born Ready

So was just having horrible flashbacks to this particular day in my life, from my first deployment in 2006-2007, for several days now.  So I decided to put it to rest one of the best ways I know how.  Here's a little general history on what took place for this particular battle

"The Battle of Haifa Street was a battle fought during January 2007 for the control of Haifa Street, a two-mile-long street in downtown Baghdad, Iraq, pitting American and Iraqi Army forces against various Sunni insurgent forces between January 6 and January 9, 2007 (phase one), and then two weeks later on January 24 when US forces launched a second attempt to clear Haifa Street of insurgents once and for all. This battle was the precursor for clearing operations that would set the conditions for "the surge" which ultimately neutralized insurgent groups in this part of Baghdad during the spring and summer of 2007."

if you want to learn more on it just google "Haifa Street 2007", and maybe you will see just why it haunts me still to this day.

Haifa Street (The Prep)

Started this track in mid June with Reason 8, but Reason 9 was coming in a few days so figured best to put on hold till I got my head around Reason 9 and understood it more, I'm glad I did.  Song was created, mixed, and mastered all In Reason 9.  Best to listen to this in your car if you don't have a sound system or studio monitors ;)

This hits home for me, just a way of dealing with my personal issues and memories of being deployed.  Some bad, but also some good.  I Hope you all enjoy this, and as always plz comment and share.

Hold The Lines-Draon

Started this track about a month ago, or well a few years ago but lost the original work rns file so tried to recreate it best i could.  But the only reason I started on it is because I was going through my feeds on twitter and seen a post by Heath Evens on the 22 push up challenge to raise awareness on the number of service members that lose their lives to Suicide.  His post couldn't have reached me at a better time as I myself was on the verge of suicide and prior military.  I've known about the awareness challenge, but until his post, I'v only seen it from my family i've served with over the last 10 years of my life, he was the first non military to help push the awareness, and really helped me to move past my own suicide thoughts.  So I thanked Mr. Evans for helping me get through my own ordeal, and started work on this.  The song itself can be considered a little depressing, and is how I intended it to be.  Everyone has thought about their own suicide, and how they would do it, to say you haven't is a lie to yourself.   The way we combat it though is to always have positive influences in our lives, to discuss our problems with others and find piece and comfort, so that we can move forward in our lives.

The Title is not that complex to understand.  "My Train Gone" is in reference to how i've always seen myself when thinking of suicide.  Standing on the platform of all my down falls, failures, disappointments, and whatever slue of emotions that plague me as I watch "My Train" (my life) leave the station with me left behind.  The struggles of climbing over all of that to catch the train, but my mind keeps slamming me with more and more making the journey to catch my train and continue my life that much more difficult.  But fortunately there are those few people that are always there for you to help you on your way, pushing, motivating you to continue up the steep slope.  Telling you there are better times on the way, just have to catch that train and "Dream On", our dreams are our motivation to survive, and we have to dream that our Train is going to continue forever.

We all have nightmares, you know those ones where the door slams on us unexpectedly, and we're to afraid/scared to continue through it.  So we curl up in the corner, waiting/hoping that someone will save us.  But there are some of us that just don't have that luxury (and frankly don't want to wait) to wait for someone, the only way we conquer our own nightmares is to approach that slammed door and push through the nightmare we are in, and continue to do so with every nightmare we encounter/create until we reach that final slammed door and find peace and happiness.  

Don't let your own fears and nightmares in your head consume you, get up and fight back.  Any means possible, don't give in to your own self doubt, you are the master, take back the control of your mind.

Slamming Nightmares (Draon)

Sorry it took so long for me to finish this, I was working on something non music related that has required all my time for the last month.  But I decided to set a few hours aside today so that I could finish this chapter in my life as I finally think I'm pushing through it now.  This song is about Suicide, not just those from our military (even though I gear it more towards my brothers and sisters in arms that deal with it), but rather for everyone that deals with it in their lives daily.  It's not meant to make you happy, in fact you should feel sad as you listen to this and go through it.  That way you know what struggles someone goes through when dealing with suicide, depression, and PTSD and can bring yourself to help them through their troubles instead of standing idly by and hoping everything will be ok in the end.  For all of us that do suffer from this, don't let it control and consume you, seek out help and come out on top.  As an individual fighting our own demons we can potentially fall, but with the help of others we can rise above this and continue on.

Some of you might come out and say "what are you saying in the song, can't understand them, they're muffled". thats the point, you never know the inner thoughts of someone dealing with these issues, they are silent killers, and you never truly know if someone has them till its to late.  But there are always signs, don't be afraid to ask someone if they are ok.    Hope you all enjoy this, and truly take in the message.

Can You (Draon)

Just a simple look on just how precious time really is, and how little we do truly enjoy of it.  Don't take things for granted, don't let time slip by.  get away from the video games and do something with the ones you love. Time is precious and we all have very little of it on this earth, so make the best of every moment.

Honestly there isn't much to say bout this track, the title says it all.  But I will say it wasn't a track I planned on, it just sort of happened.  was just working on some patches to use for later on and the song evolved from there.
