Belgian duo Pulse.ar drop their debut EP 'Storyteller' on Say What?. Hypnotic grooves and raw sound design are key in this release, Pulse.ar craft five deep, rolling cuts that merge emotional tension with relentless energy, showing their unmistakable command of the modern techno spectrum.

The title track opens the journey with hypnotic precision — a rolling, analog-fueled groove layered with evolving percussive details and subtle atmospheres. It feels like a story told through rhythm rather than words, where every modulation and filter sweep becomes part of an emotional progression. It’s the kind of track that locks a dancefloor in motion while drawing the listener inward, setting the tone for what’s to come.

On 'Dagga', tribal elements emerge with a heavier rhythmic swing and smoky atmosphere. The drums feel alive, pushing forward with a magnetic, primal energy. There’s an earthy warmth beneath the grit — the kind of rolling techno that bridges classic and modern influences, perfect for deep warehouse moments.

'No Way Back' raises the intensity with driving low-end power and sharp, minimal percussion. It’s relentless yet deeply hypnotic, built for long, immersive sets where the groove takes full control. Pulse.ar layers subtle synth movements that rise and fall like breathing — giving the track a sense of organic life within its raw machine framework.

Next, 'Not Here' pushes further into darker territory. Built around a pulsating drums and mechanical groove, it creates a tension-filled landscape full of delayed textures and shadowy energy. The track captures that feeling of being lost in the moment — not here, not anywhere — just floating in a timeless loop between light and dark.

Finally, 'Why Unfold' closes the EP with introspective grace. — a deep-groove journey that reveals Pulse.ar’s cinematic side. Here, the artist shows the vulnerability behind the toughness, as shimmering pads and ghostly chords melt over grounded percussion, leaving the listener with a lingering sense of reflection and closure.

Soulcontrol, aka Mauricio De Nardi, is a Berlin-based DJ and producer driven  by a passion for vinyl. 

His sets fuse early 2000s tribal techno rhythms with raw house and techno, all delivered with analog warmth and  needle-on-wax authenticity. 

With Argentine roots and deep ties to Berlin’s underground scene, he’s known for energizing dancefloors with powerful, groove-laden journeys.
