IN BRIEF:
The DST band was created in 1992 in Sofia by the student from the National Academy of Arts Teodor Manolov and the musicians Todor Karastoianov, Nikolay Kolev and Marin Tashev.
In the next few years Manolov (famous Bulgarian artist and graphic designer now) became the band’s heart and primary composer, the band expanded conceptually and in quantitative terms, its line-up increased, but the members of Da Small Tragoediaz often leaving or being replaced due conceptual discrepancies. There comes a time when Da Small Tragoediaz is no longer just a typical rock band, but rather some kind of a creative alliance of many musicians and DJs with different styles.
The same goes up to the present. Parts in the DST’s records and live performances take various guest musicians from popular Bulgarian and European underground rock & electronic bands. But in the past two years the band performed live with a constant line-up: “Dr Frank” (Teodor Manolov) – vox, guitarz, samplerz, bass; Derr Sin (Ivan Maslev) – guitarz, and 2backOFF (Nikolai Tabakov) – drumz.
