Da Virgo - Island Pop/Dance Beat

Music can be defined as the art or science of combining vocal and/or instrumental sounds to produce beauty of form, harmony and expression of emotion.  

This definition almost eerily echoes the temperament of Chanelle "Da Virgo" Seymour, who effortlessly reflects beauty, harmony and a deep seated need to source and express that which resonates within.  Born in Cascade, Trinidad on Sept. 18th, 1987, she is set in the middle of two brothers.  A strange phenomena, however, seemed to stick with the young Virgo as she matured.  From a very early age, everytime music was within aural range, her right big toe would move in time with the vibrations.  To this, her mother often responded saying, "Your rhythm is in your big toe".  Subconsciously of course, you can still catch this happening to this day.  

Over the years, Virgo transformed from a boisterous, frantic child to a reserved, observant young woman.  It was during the troublesome and often confusing adolescent years that music became her main solace.  At the tender age of 13, djing and beat matching became a hobby.  This further sparked her curiousity about all things musical.  She always had a respect and adoration for the many sounds of music, but simply being a listener would no longer do.  She had to create!  Following in her late grandfather's footsteps (a band musician), like so many of his grandchildren, Virgo then began the journey in the music arena. Already a great writer, with excellent command of literary affairs, she invested more energy into developing this craft.  

After secondary school, Virgo immediately left for South Florida, where she pursued an education in Media Production, after which she followed with certification in the field of Sound Engineering in her home country of Trinidad & Tobago. The result of such efforts brought Virgo out of her comfort zone, thereby challenging herself to morph from solely music production into performing vocally as well.  Da Virgo had finally found her voice -- one she felt was suppressed for so long.  

By this time, the young talent had already teamed up with fellow artists and longtime friends, Raynier and Chance.  In unison, they posess the name D3 Entertainment.   

What is interesting to note is that the Virgo of the zodiac, is the only sign represented by a female.  The young producer/artist/songwriter/sound engineer seems to mirror her chosen name well, as she represents the far and few ambitious young women in an arena that is typically male oriented.  Like many others of this particular sign, such as Michael Jackson, Virgo is often times misunderstood.  If all else fails, one sure way to find out who she truly is and what she feels, all you need to do is pay close attention and listen.  Virgo is only able to express what is felt -- what is within her to expel.
