High-flying DJ and production duo Tom & Jame have been making remarkable strides in the Dance music scene, thanks to their vast array of energetic Big Room heavy hitters. Taking time out of their hectic schedules, Tom &Jame have been back in the studio and the results have certainly not disappointed. Up next is ‘Hold Up’, a Progressive infused Electro House production that is sure to cause chaos in clubs and at festivals worldwide - making it a future summer anthem. Full of powerful and driving drums, mesmerising melodies, intricate FX work and groovy bass-lines, ‘Hold Up’ contains all necessary components for a peak time thriller, making it a worthy inclusion in any DJ’ record box - it’s no wonder Dannic featured it in his set at this year’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami.

When Dannic heard the record for the first time, he immediately jumped at the opportunity to add ‘Hold Up’ to the release schedule for his ever-growing imprint Fonk Recordings - a testament to Tom & Jame’s unique production skills. The release of ‘Hold Up’ will see the pair join Fonk’s stellar roster of artists which include fast rising stars like: Amersy, HIIO, M35, VionKonger, WE AM, and the label boss himself. ‘Hold Up’ is out now and with it’s release set to cause huge noises in the scene, it is also set to project Tom & Jame further up the Dance music ladder.

During the second edition of Flashover Fridays we gave aspiring producers who were attending the option to get a 1-on-1 in depth demo session with our A&R managers. Giving everyone the chance to get technical and much needed feedback to finish their demos, update their skills and give them more tips and tricks to get a better result. Little did we know when Remarq and Swen walked into our studio that we would get to hear a demo that was nearing perfection.

Sound Of Goodbye was that demo and after a few minor tweaks, we’re proud to say it’s the first ever demo we signed straight from our Flashover Fridays demo sessions. Building up on a rolling bassline towards an atmospherical breakdown, only to kick back with an awe-inspiring melody that blows every roof off, this is one of those key and peaktime records that will highlight your set.

The latest addition to Barong Family is a 17-year-old Chinese DJ, producer, singer and songwriter called Chace. The level of artistic maturity on his debut Destination EP is extraordinary, from Chace’s melancholic, muted vocals to the overall depth and liveliness of his arrangements and production. There’s just no doubt about the range of his talents and we feel extremely lucky to have found him. His first release is the fruit of an intense two months of studio sessions, inspired by Chace’s musical roots and surroundings. All four songs are deep-house tracks with very strong songwriting that should find their way well beyond the dancefloor. ‘Stranger’ is a collaboration with Barong Family heads Yellow Claw, once again showcasing Chace’s excellent string arrangements and featuring a bumpy UK garage touch.

Fresh off the back of her edit of the massive ‘Café Del Mar’, MATTN is back and better than ever on Smash The House with her new track ‘How We Roll’, a collaboration with Dutch duo 2 Faced Funks, who themselves are following up on tracks on the mighty Armada Music and Oxygen Recordings. The combination is a match made in heaven, as the outcome of this musical matrimony is a peak-time club cut primed to make itself heard across the globe and into the sets of the world’s best DJ’s for the foreseeable future.
 ‘How We Roll’ is full of skippy snares, hardstyle kicks and a bassline that rips its way through the track, guaranteed to cause chaos on the dancefloor. A progressive house style pluck punctuates the track, joined by bursts of synths that keep the listener on their toes. The breakdown teases the elements as they filter up, leading a sea of lush tones to descend on the track before the pounding beats are dropped, pushed along by a low end arpeggio that rumbles underneath menacingly.

The production talent on show in ‘How We Roll’ is evident, as both artists have undoubtedly brought their A-game to a track that could be the biggest yet for both of them. The summer is here with “Maracuja”, it is Kiholm his debut on Marcus Schössow his label Code Red. The groovy track has been kept secret for months and until the weekend before the release almost no one knew who produced the Mediterranean flavored house track. Even the DJ’s tied to Code Red had no clue who was responsible for “Maracuja”. What they did know, was that they loved the track!

The sun starts to shine instantly with Kiholm his groovy production, which kicks off with a big and pretty aggressive bass line. The track keeps building towards the break, but brings a surprising piano and guitar melody there. Instead of the heavy banger you might expect “Maracuja” changes into a smooth and groovy house tune for the summer. The Mediterranean flavored tune will make people groove and shake their hips for sure.

Kiholm debuts graciously with his tune “Maracuja” on Code Red. It is not the first time the Danish DJ/producer and Marcus Schössow find each other. Kiholm has a long history in the trance scene and released on Schössow his previous label Tone Diary. Times are changing though and Kiholm is exploring the new territories within dance music.
 
“Maracuja” has been one of Code Red it secret ID tracks for months and we are proud to be able to share it with you. Especially because it also embarks the start of the next phase in Kiholm his career. The Danish DJ/producer has broken his creative boundaries to come up with something fresh and groovy. Something we encourage and respect a lot. And given the fact “Maracuja” is such a sweet tune; we just had to release it.
