Steyoyoke are proud to work alongside fast rising star Habischman in bringing you their next EP titled ‘The Moment’. Having already donned productions on labels such as Noir, Moda Black and VIVA Music, this single track release has definitely sparked a wave of excitement within the Steyoyoke camp. BLANCAh and head honcho Soul Button are on remix duties for this one and each imprint ‘The Moment’ with their own personal flavours.
The original is built around a solid bassline and a consistent flurry of vocals, which echo in and out throughout the entire track. A backdrop of ominous chord changes drive the track to build upon itself, leading you to a momentary suspension of sound during the breakdown, before giving way to a drop and then continuing along with the same momentum.
Soul Button’s remix takes things one level deeper, finding an extra groove for this track to channel upon. Boasting a slightly more dubbed vibe then the original and displaying darker percussive elements, this remix certainly has some grunt to it. The vocals however, do stay true to Habischman’s original.
The second remix of ‘The Moment’ is from BLANCAh and she chooses to strip back the original somewhat, giving it a distinctive minimal techno influence. As a result, the track becomes a chugging wave of rolling bass lines and layered synth riffs. BLANCAh also incorporates some extra panning effects which tease and tantalise the aural frequencies.

Through the many moments that have made our label, this year has been no different for pushing our sound passionately across the World’s dance-floors, festivals and beyond. Over the last 12 months we’ve had 12 releases, including EP’s from key artists MUUI and Yoram, we’ve had Jonas Saalbach and THe WHite SHadow blow everyone out of the park with killer releases, Amentia and Foreign Guest gave us remarkable debuts, MUUI and Marc Poppcke gave us their long-awaited debut albums, and if that wasn’t enough, we teamed up with some of the best in the game to give you some deadly remixes from the likes of Einmusik, Solee, Los Suruba and Rashid Ajami – what a year!

You’d think with turning 4, it’d be easy to sit back and enjoy the ride? Yet Crossfrontier Audio won’t stop, we’re gearing up for another year and we’re gunning for our 50th release too! The next of which is a mix of label favourites and exciting new artists who feature on our 2-part 4 Years of Crossfrontier Audio, due for release mid of October – stay in the mix as you will not be disappointed, with a nod to the past and a look to the future, we certainly have a few surprises for you.

Lastly, we’d like to thank everyone involved with us over the last 4 years thus far, be it an avid listener, a DJ playing out our signature sound, or one of the many creative artists we work with – it’s you who we do it for, and we’ll continue crossing frontiers.

Definition:Music is thrilled to release ‘Friends EP’, a three track release from New Zealand artist Dilby. Dilby has been steady releasing on a handful of choice labels for some time now, and teams up with singer Benjamin FRNKLN , whose previous work with Butch, alongside a string of releases on Hot Creations and Cecile has earned himself a great recognition worldwide. The first track ‘Friends’ is proof, with a low-and-dirty bassline droning beneath a strong kick opening the show, the vocals slowly introduce themselves with great effect. The track slowly releases, keeping a consistent, high level of energy without overstepping. ‘Pacing the Halls’ follow a similar, but much darer vibe. The energy here takes it’s time, but worth the wait. Finally, ‘Sneaky One’ breaks down all the walls and opens the energy-floodgates. Immediately we are moved by the percussion and the slow rise of synths. With a strong techno flavor, the track proves itself to be super effective in pushing a crowd higher and further. We couldn’t be more happy with the package and are proud to share it with you.
