Kotei first caught our attention whilst tearing up the Liverpool club scene and showcasing his talents as a DJ/Producer at massive festivals such as Outlook. The B-side "Gucci" has been highly sought after since plays on multiple Swamp 81 radio shows, and we're buzzing to be able to bring this bassy breaks number to wax form. The title track "Distance", a stripped-back number with UKG influence is the perfect compliment, making for a killer EP.

The next MC to step into a 1Forty Release feels like he has been around the grime scene for a while, yet amazingly is still only a teenager. SBK came to prominence on the now defunct Radar Radio, whilst also being brought through by Novelist on a number of occasions. Funnily enough the scene hasn’t welcomed a shining talent so young since the 2018 Mercury Prize nominee first broke through on to the scene with The Square 5 years ago.

The Stevenage native has already tore down the likes of 1Xtra, Rinse FM, Boiler Room, Kiss, Pyro and more than held his own amongst MCs twice his age at Grime Originals. The past 12 months has seen him light up a ton of sets across the UK biggest platforms, released works with the likes of Mez amongst a number of self releases, and of course featuring on a key moment in the Grime calendar - Lord Of The Mics 8. Clashing T Roadz and then of course all the promotion that came with it, such as coverage on each participant by Sir Spyro, the compilation release alongside the likes of Grime royalty Roll Deep and Wiley, and the launch party with the likes of Skepta showing love.

1Forty being 1Forty.. we paired the standout MC of the next generation of Grime artists, with one of the labels most versatile and original producers in Fork And Knife, and the outcome is a Funky/Grime hybrid Single releasing 19th November.
