As a teenager, Dada was inspired to play guitar after attending a Dick Dale concert in Calcutta. Years later, he discovered that the Dale who appeared at the show was actually an impersonator. Nevertheless, Dada's love for wailing licks and fat grooves remained. The songs from this release tell of a fragmented world, through a melange of surf rock, funk and seventies' Bollywood vibes. “Sabka Malik Ek” riffs off of a popular spiritual hymn, to explore the idea of subservience to a “master”,  while “Sthithi” mourns the rise of hate in India. In the absence of concrete answers to these existential dilemmas, one can only dance. The tracks were produced by Polish instrumentalist and producer Aleksander Makowski.

The song riffs off a popular Indian spiritual hymn that says "We all have one master", but takes it into a darker direction, evoking images of lost souls wandering in search of their masters.

I wrote this song soon after the coup in Myanmar, American elections and start of the pandemic. It was also a period when the Gaza strip was being bombed for yet another time. The one constant in the story of world conflict seemed to be Palestine...

Fluctuating Times

When I was a kid, "Space Oddity" was one of my favourite songs. There was just one thing I didn't get - why was Major Tom so sad about being lost in space? It seemed like a pretty good deal to me. So some years later, I wrote this track.
