魚さん、どこから来たの
街に魚が迷いこんで来ました
男の子はどこから来たのか尋ねました


住んでる海がひ上がってしまって
仕方なくここにいるのです

また海が元に戻るまでここにいてね
家族や友達も連れてくるといいよ

ありがとう そうさせてもらっていいかな 本当にありがとう

街は日に日にたくさんの
海の生き物でいっぱいになりました

大通りをクジラがゆうゆうと泳ぎ
路地裏の角イワシの群れが急カーブし
公園の砂場にはヒトデやヤドカリがこっそりと生活しはじめました

でも海はいつまでたっても元に戻りませんでした

一年の月日が経つうちに
いつからかクジラが荷物を運び
イワシの群れは夏に木陰のような役目
ヒトデややどかりは子供の遊び相手になり、すっかり街の住人になりました

ある日黒い雨雲が近づいてきました
瞬く間に
街に大雨が降り続き、川が深くなり、海だったクレーターの部分に水が流れ込み、
海が元どおりになりました

ついに、海に魚たちが帰る日が来たのです

男の子は寂しくてわんわん泣きました

僕たちのことを忘れないでね

また海に遊びに来てね

うん絶対行くからね

そうして魚たちは海に帰って行きました
男の子は日が暮れても
一番星が出てもぼんやり海の方角の空を見つめていました
藍色に染まった街はまるで海の底の街にいるようでした

そうして
とてもとてもたくさんの年月が流れました

少年は大人になり海を見つめています。
