Berlin native and Rubisco label head Nick Beringer lays down some serious rolling beat science for Mosaic’s 5th LTDX edition. T
he EP kicks off in style in the shape of ‘Intercity’: straddling a square 4/4 house rhythm with an ‘Art of Trance’ spirit – all brought together in contemporary style. Layers of subtly filtered melody pulsate their way throughout, rising and falling as minimal elements collide for maximal sonic impact.

Switching to more familiar territory, ‘Time Shift’ reins things back a notch as tight 909 beats swing to well rounded bottom end, carrying the warm layers of evolving synths and chorded elements with precision effect. 

Ending on the introspective mood of ‘Counterclockwise’, Beringer displays an even defter touch, heralding the light fantastic as the spectre of night passes by.

Renowned live artist and Premiesku member Floog delivers four shimmering microhouse cuts on Archie Hamilton’s Moscow Records this September.

Hailing from the vibrantly active house and techno scene of Romania, Floog has established himself as one of the country’s most distinguished artists with releases on labels like Mulen Records, Atipic, Joule and MEOKO. One third of the Premiesku group alongside Livio & Roby, he has specialised in capturing the infectious rhythm of drum machines and analogue synths with regular support from Apollonia, Petre Inspirescu, Raresh, Priku, Sonja Moonear, and many more.

‘The Gathering’ kick starts the release with layered claps, a low-end analogue hook and tantalising high stabs, before ‘Balance Right’ continues his signature minimal aesthetic with sparkling bleeps, sweeping vocals and a catchy synth loop. On the flip ‘Amiba Ta’ gives an eerie feel whilst tight drums lock in the groove, until finally ‘Sepe Patru’ closes the package with decayed voices, bouncing side-chained bass and saturated snare layers.

DJ W!LD’s Dailycid imprint yet again proving their versatility here with a fantastic array of sounds from various artists including Hanfry Martinez & Carlos Sanchez, Chklte, Sakro and Beresi. The eleventh release proving to be as essential as the back catalogue that lay before it. 

Straight in at the deep end as opener ‘Sonido Sarita’ comes sidewinding in. The outcome of a collaboration between Hanfry Martinez & Carlos Sanchez, surfing the bass line waves as this one gives a solid nod towards garage. Creative energy from the duo joining the welcomed resurgence of this genre. Taking it down a notch is US producer Chklte, hot off the heels of his debut vinyl release on Moonfruit Records the talented producer provides a stripped back, deeper vibe with his ‘Continuum Transfunctioner’ track. A gripping journey for the listener. 

On the B side is Mexican artist, Sakro with UFO, as expected killer drum work and an urgent bass arrangement which has become synonymous with his sound in recent years. Sure to be a winner this summer. Rounding off Dailycid011 is an atmospheric trip with Beresi, a dark mood through out with a specific after party feel. Trippy samples float in and out of the laid back structure.
