My favourite era of music is the 1980s. So for this mix I have put together a selection of records that remind me of the musical colours from my upbringing, ranging from pachanga, Latin new wave, Afro synth pop & other warm rhythms, including some taken from my parent’s own collection :)

For our 180th show we proudly welcome Daisybelle, and what a show she has got for you! Born in Puerto Rico into a family of musicians, the DJ and Music Producer was imbued with a childhood surrounded by the richness of Latin music, melodies and records. From this she developed an innate desire to carve her own path in the world of music. As an avid vinyl DJ and collector, Daisybelle's extensive library spans continents, genres, and eras, reflecting her penchant for soulful worldly sounds and a deep connection with house music.

With over a decade entrenched in the London music scene, Daisybelle has evolved into a sought-after selector, hosting shows on platforms like My Analog Journal, Razor-N-Tape, and The Lot Radio in New York. The summer of her debut at Electric Castle in Romania, Westival in Wales, and Lost Village Festival saw her gracing the main stage alongside luminaries like Peggy Gou, Roisin Murphy, and Nia Archives.

Daisybelle's musical versatility has earned her a place among legends such as Mr.G, Honey Dijon, Nicky Siano, The Martinez Brothers, Sasha, and Chez Damier. Notable performances include iconic venues like fabric, Printworks, Drumsheds, Ministry of Sound, and Pikes Ibiza.

In 2022, Daisybelle joined forces with longtime friend Carly Foxx to create a dynamic B2B project. This collaboration led to a livestream DJ set via the Defected Broadcast House and marked the inception of their own club night, "Only Fans House Party." The duo also unveiled their latest single, "Blue Beams," released through the esteemed Nervous Records label.

London-based digger supremo Daisybelle steps up for the GuduMix series, starting off with some music by her and charting a path through Mim Suleiman, Strath and Gudu's own Brain de Palma.

In Daisybelle's words: "“My inspiration for this mix was to literally showcase all of the different styles and sounds that have influenced me as a DJ and producer. On the dance floor I love eclectic and unexpected sets so I hope I’ve captured that here. There’s a strong love for emotive synth driven melodies, from new wave to Italo sounds, blended with underground current and 90s house music."

GuduMix 055: Daisybelle

Another vibrant and originality-packed release lands in the Cocada Music catalog. This time, the spotlight is on the debut of the talented Gabi Fischer, a DJ and producer who's been gaining attention in the Brazilian scene with her versatile style across the spectrums of House and Electro. Her EP Desejos features two original tracks - Electro Therapy and the title track Desejos - as well as a remix of the latter by Puerto Rican producer Daisybelle. The EP blends rhythms by pairing the sensuality and flow of Electro in the original tracks with grooves that oscillate between Deep Tech and House Music in the remix.
