Madota is the musical lovechild of urban shepherds Behnam & Mehran. Iranian by birth, Canadian by upbringing, these two have come a long way from their own journeys before reuniting in Berlin.

Realistically they didn't start playing the ukulele at the tender age of 3 nor did they buy their first drum machine in kindergarten. What we know is that their deeply rooted love for electronic music led them to storm Vancouver's nightlife as DJs since 2011. This in turn prepared them to start their experimentation with making music that pulls influences from their hyphenated backgrounds. Today they embody a sound capturing their lust for colorful organic elements coupled with their itch for darker grooves.

Their music has already taken them to perform numerous times in legendary gatherings such as Katerblau in Berlin, ZERO in NYC and Woomoon in Ibiza.

Öona Dahl, which derives from her spirit guides name, first discovered dance music in the 80s from her Mother who exposed her to music like Madonna and Donna Summer. As a child she found solace in nature and even enjoyed listening to tapes with sounds of the rainforest and waterfalls. She found a Bjork vinyl record at a garage sale which set her off into a lifetime passion for electronic music. 

Öona, not having many friends growing up besides imaginary ones, found comfort in coding and cracking software on her PC. She began using early DAWs like Fruity Loops and Acid Pro to make her own music. After seeing a DJ at a rave in Toronto in 2001 she went home and got herself a pair of belt drive turntables to start teaching herself how to DJ. Later, receiving lessons from DJ Pacman weekly near her home in New York, she went on to perform at clubs before she was even legally allowed to at age 17. 

In 2004 she moved down to Florida to be closer to Disney World and to attend college for sound design. During college she met DJ Three and Monk from Hallucination Recordings (Rabbit in the Moon) at an afterparty which led to her performing at annual Hallucination events. After moving to Berlin in 2014 she started releasing music on All Day I Dream and her debut album “Holograma” shortly after on Hallucienda. 

She has since continued to be a music producer, engineer, visual artist and music video director. Performing now around the world, as Öona Dahl and Slumber (with Amber Cox), she continues her path sharing higher conscious cosmic sounds.

An electronic music DJ, remixer, composer and producer.
Noted for his versatility and musical range, Philip attributes much of his influences to his Middle Eastern heritage and western upbringing. Known for his unmistakable sound, Philip's DJ sets and productions are rich with groovy hypnotic melodies and driving basslines. In his young years, Philip played percussion with his brother Julien and some high school mates, performing as musical act Elemental. Much of Philip's early nightlife experience began in the late 90s toward the end of high school, in Montreal at Sona and Redlite. Over the years, he began working more frequently in the studio on original productions and remixes, and further developed his audio engineering skills. A few of Philip's early studio mentors are Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Habersham, Max Graham, Darin Epsilon to name a few.
After finishing his university, Philip moved to Miami in 2005 and after to relocated to Belgium and Holland. While staying in Europe, Philip promoted his sound at festivals like the Amsterdam Dance Event and Tomorrowland.
In 2012, Philip returned to Miami. While in Miami Philip had the opportunity to play in distinguished clubs like Vagabond and Nikki and enjoyed residencies at TSL Lounge, Treehouse, Do Not Sit on the Furniture, among others. Chedid performed with some of the world's most celebrated artists from all dance music genres, such as Nick Warren, Jody Wisternoff, Dave Seaman, Eelke Kleijn, Marc Marzenit, Guy Mantzur, Sahar Z, Darin Epsilon, Clarian, Einmusik, Omid 16B, SIS, Thomas Schumacher, Birds of Mind, Armen Miran, Bedouin, Vanilla Ace, H-Foundation, Jody Wisternoff, Danny Howells, Miyagi, Jozif, Of Norway, Mikey Lion, Tara Brooks, Flavio Navarro, Zach Walker, Jonathan Will, Derek Hena, Aninha, among others.
In the Spring of 2014, Philip released "Remaindermen" on Sound Avenue's "We are the Future" spring compilation. His Spring 2016 Bayti EP on Crossfade sounds received solid support and recommendations from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, among others. His 2016 collab with Darin Epsilon 'Endless Sands of Time' [Parquet] received stellar reviews by Deep House Amsterdam, among other noted publishers. Over the next couple years, the releases have been coming more anand in 2017 Philip formed the imprint Endless Sands of Time. Now residing in Los Angeles, Philip continues to work on his craft and is recognized as a up and coming artist with much potential in the scene.
