With a penchant for off-kilter drum and bass, bass, dub and dubstep, sina meticulously curates sets that mix and match elements of atmospheric trip hop, murky post-DnB and the mischievous 2-step sounds of the 90/00s. Witnessing sina grace the decks at Inward Goods festival was a nostalgic luxury - I felt like I’d stepped into some form of magical Y2k swamp party, where only the best of early 2000s drum and bass were being thrown down. Sina’s contributions to the community extend beyond the decks and into the realm of party planning and label curation (Secret World) whilst also forming ⅓ of the band dregs. Remember your roots - dance floors have always been sites of political change, and we are the next generation! Rave spaces are not inherently radical. While we've made so much progress in breaking down the homogenous wall of cis white dudes in electronic music, the work never stops. As creatives, we each have a duty to balance our own practices with creating space for others. We all have something unique to contribute, but we run the risk of replicating hegemonic dynamics if we don't create equity within our communities. A healthy creative ecosystem requires a lush diversity of experiences and practices. Be kind, be conscientious, and have fun... after all, it's a party.

Ello, I’m Jackson. Pronouns are He/Him. Residing in Eora/Sydney

Who/what currently inspires you music-wise that has nothing to do with music?

Water and light mostly 

What is your favorite party/collective where you reside and why?

Too many faves. Some heavy hitters off the top are Umami/Echo Flats/Heavenly/Community Chest. They are %100 in it for the experience. Community Chest is a joint force crew of about 7 great crews from Sydney – It’s kinda like when the power rangers come together to make that big robot fighter guy

What was your best moment at the supermarket?

They were playing Bill Withers in a Woollies once and it got me

What is your most recent favorite DJ mix and why?

Max D – Indie Rock on C- was maybe the last one that got me good. Max D only plays by Max D’s rules

Originally from Perth where she had and continues to have a huge impact on her local scene with her Deep Doogs' programming and frequent tours, @toniyotzi made the move to Melbourne a few years ago and has since become an icon of that city as well with her Inner Varnika and Golden Plains sets as well as her regular show House of Sports on beloved local radio station Skylab Radio.
