‘Man Next Door’ written by the legendary John Holt and originally recorded by The Paragons in 1968.

This song has been covered many times by artists such as Massive Attack, Dennis Brown, Horace Andy and The Slits to name a few, but I’m sure you’ll agree that Dakka Skanks given this song their trademark sound and coupled with the ever mesmerising vocals from lead singer Clara Byrne really lifts this song onto another level.


Man Next Door

Originally recorded and released by The Stooges in 1969 ‘I Wanna Be Your Dog’ has achieved cult status and is regularly included in ‘Best Of All Time’ lists.

Dakka Skanks have taken the energy of the original and translated it into a ska anthem in the making with the addition of a melodica top line that adds an extra hook which prompted this reply from a label exec. ‘Definitely fun to hear the Stooges in ska style’ 


I Wanna Be Your Dog

This track is cover of legendary band The Heptones ‘Babylon Falling’ which was originally released on Trojan Records. 
Dakka Skanks have added their trademark sound and soaring vocals from Clara Byrne and have re-written some lyrics, with full permission, to reflect the swagger and style of the skinhead scene.

Babylon Falling

This is a cover of an Angelic Upstarts track who have been hailed as one of punks most politically charged and thought-provoking bands and this track was originally released by them in 1985 as a standalone single. 
This version is a tribute to Mensi (RIP) who was a guiding light to so many and as an extra bonus this track features original vocals from Mensi taken from the 1985 release and included with kind permission from Cherry Red Records.
