For release number 6 we are delighted to welcome our good friend Citizen back to the W&O Street Tracks family and along with him a producer we've had our eye on for sometime, Joe Ashworth.

Kicking off the EP we have 'Situation', a deep tribal house track featuring vocalist Shona Carmen that evokes the spirit of legendary clubs such as NY's Sound Factory whilst still sounding totally fresh and original. Stripped back without any unnecessary frills or flourishes, it's a masterclass in soulful yet simultaneously jacking house music.

If the original had more than a touch of Manhattan to it, then the 'LDN Warehouse Dub' brings things right back home with a sound forged on smoke filled dance floors in the grimier districts of East London and in its hypnotic, metallic bass line a nod to the Bleep sound of a previous generation of warehouse fillers like Unique 3 and LFO.

Finally we finish things off with 'State' a tautly wound piece of underground house music, that gently ratchets up the tension over 4 minutes before the organ comes in and before you can say 'La Da Dee, La Da Day' lifts the track, and we'd put money on any crowds listening to it, up to a whole 'nother level.

With half a dozen releases now in our first year from the likes of Ejeca, Rhythm Operator, Squarehead, Chamboché and Waze & Odyssey, W&O Street Tracks has quickly established itself at the forefront of the UK’s ongoing house music renaissance.

Manchester-born and now London-based TCTS aka Sam O'Neill is back with a brand new EP for MTA Records, the burgeoning label helmed by Chase & Status. The 4-track 'Games' EP follows the 'These Heights' EP on Greco-Roman, which saw widespread support from the powerhouses of BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra including Annie Mac, MistaJam, Cameo and more.

TCTS has a habit of picking featured vocalists who are on the brink of success and 'Games' is no exception, with sassy new talent K Stewart kicking things off on the title track, belting it out from the get go. Assertive, strutting vocals herald effervescent percussion, lush synth work and chopped male vox for an irresistible start to the EP.

TCTS first came to everyone's attention with his debut EP 'Hands' on the Cool Kid Music label, and following the success of that release Bondax snapped up his underground hit '1997' for their fledgling imprint Just Us. The track soon landed on the BBC Radio 1 playlist, and O'Neill has been on the rise ever since.

His immense creative skill also transfers to his production, seeing him sell millions of records and working with the likes of Prince, Madonna, Michael Jackson, R. Kelly and Mary J. Blige.

Written and produced by Hurley, ‘Jack Your Body’ quickly earned the distinction of being the UK’s first house music chart topper and all through club exposure alone, paving the way for the acid house sound. It is a landmark track in the history of house.

Originally released on pioneering Chicago house label, S&S Records, Doorly brings ‘Jack Your Body’ bang up to date for release on powerhouse label, Toolroom Records.
