The fourth track of the Those Who Can't Do (Doing It Anyway) EP. 

This track features image sounds, sitar, tabla, and synthesizers. It sounds like a trip to outer space with a vengeful Hindu deity.

The title comes from a quote in the 1965 documentary, The Decision to Drop the Bomb (NBC).  J. Robert Oppenheimer, theoretical physicist and scientific director of the Manhattan project, was speaking about the first explosion of an atomic bomb - the Trinity test - in 1945. Oppenheimer's full quote was: "We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed...a few people cried...most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the prince that he should do his duty, and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form, and says, 'Now, I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.' I suppose we all thought that, one way or another."

The third track of the Those Who Can't Do (Doing It Anyway) EP. 

This is what it sounds like when you're swimming in the ocean and you swim near an amusement park for mermaids. Or so I'm told.

This track contains no image sounds. I was experimenting with Princeton University's TAPESTREA (Techniques And Paradigms for Expressive Synthesis, Transformation, and Rendering of Environmental Audio) software and came up with this. What TAPESTREA, or "taps," does is allow the user to record (or import) audio and then extract certain properties/sections of the recorded or imported audio, and then synthesize the resulting audio into a new sound through various processes. Or, put simply, it does magic with sound and it's cool.  In the future, I'll be posting more of my work with taps.
