So I have epilepsy, and Lost My Tongue is about certain things I dislike about having epilepsy. Mainly, how sometimes it is a struggle to form a sentence, and simply come up with the words I'm trying to say. It's something everyone can relate to at times, having a word on the tip of their tongue. But I deal with this all the time, and it is sometimes exhausting.

Small Me is about my childhood and navigating onto adulthood, as we all have to do. That doesn't mean our inner child has to leave though.

Dream is pretty straight forward. If you have a dream, go for it! Sometimes things won't be going your way, but continue on trying.

There are some railroad tracks that go through the town of Graham. Some of the crossings only have yield signs, and no warning if a train were to be coming. One night on my way home, I had my music cranked, and I wasn't paying attention as I crossed the tracks, a thought crossed me that I could've been completely blindsided by a train, and never had known it. Obviously, I probably would see a train coming in time to stop, but it was a shocking thought.

Empty Room talks about wanting to leave my bedroom and gain a new perspective on the world. Wanting to "Begin" and start a new era of my life, because sitting in my room, or sitting at a job, watching the world go by is not the way I prefer to live. I encourage you to "begin" whatever it is that makes you happiest. Just start taking small steps, 'til you make it your reality.

There was a period of time awhile back, I was pretty over everything. I didn't have the energy to make my bed, so eventually the sheets came off for some time. Since then, I have become a happier person overall. My outlook is different, and just keeps me positive.

The movie "A Man Called Otto" inspired me to write this song. If you've seen this movie, you know how emotional and touching it is. This old man feels he is alone with nothing else to live for, but a new family moves in by him and gives him a sense of purpose in his community. Life is better with you here!

Sapling is about nature. It has multiple meanings really. The relationship between birds and trees, and the support they provide each other. Also human relationships, and the way we support each other.

The lyrics to Happy One were originally very depressing. I was tired of making so many negative and depressing songs, so I wrote a positive message to this one, even though the mood is kind of dark and dreary.

A Chance to Be talks about our connection to each other and to everything around us. We all share one thing at least, and that is we all have this chance to be here, witnessing this existence through our own experiences. That to me is a special, and beautiful thing, and I feel like we all could take more time to ponder just how special this is!
