#1 - I completed this and released it the night after he passed away in 2009, while still numbed from the news

#2 - before the weekend was over, this podcast was posted and listened to in over 20 countries.  It eventually ranked in the top 300 podcasts in the world.

#3 - this was maybe only my 3rd or 4th official mix after converting to Serato and being retired from DJing for nearly 5 years.

That being said, I wanted to re-upload this so it can continue to live forever.

The logo says it all.  If you don't understand, let me give you the dialogue.  Early to mid-1980s, NYC.  When black radio was black radio, not "Urban Contemporary".  When we had real DJs and remixers and programmers like Tony Humphries, the Latin Rascals, Shep Pettibone holding down real clubs like the Roxy, The Shadow, Nell's, The Red Parrot,  etc.  We heard everything.  We respected what came before us while forging a new path for ourselves.

Listen to this and understand why every other genre can have their artists and pioneers from back in the day go on tour and make money and be revered, except today's generation.  We're haters, we're old heads, we're broke and mad because the industry screwed us before it became a business and opened the door for the talentless to benefit.

I just wanted to take it back in my DJ retirement to reflect on how it used to be.  You couldn't be a DJ because you liked music and went to Guitar Center but buy some gear and decided to call yourself a DJ.  I needed to take it back...it's therapeutic.
