DAMASCO SOUL SYSTEM is a Latin Reggae collective that blends African and South American rhythmic traditions into a vibrant, conscious sound. Rooted in reggae and dancehall ragamuffin, the band incorporates capoeira, cumbia, samba, bossa nova, and afrobeat, creating a musical language driven by rhythm, movement, and message. “Soul System” represents sound as a universal vibration—the creative force from which everything emerges—while Damasco (apricot) symbolizes planting seeds, community, and artistic continuity.

Founded by Chilean-Canadian artist David Silva, singer, songwriter, vocalist, and percussionist, the project is shaped by a life marked by exile, resistance, and cultural fusion. Raised among artists and musicians, Silva’s musical path evolved from hip hop and rap to capoeira and reggae, forming a unique Afrosudaka identity grounded in African percussion.

Damasco Soul System performs in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, delivering music that connects roots, consciousness, and dancefloor energy.
