Iconic British production duo Groove Armada return to DFTD with a special, four-track remix package spotlighting leaders of the house scene. First up, Scottish tastemaker and international electronic creative Austin Ato lends his unique sound to the instantly recognisable GA classic ‘I See You Baby’; with early support from the likes of A-Trak, Gina Breeze and Melé, Austin’s immense take on the electronic favourite is sure to dominate the coming festival seasons and beyond. Next up, UK tastemakers Nautica flip 2007’s Love Sweet Sound featuring the iconic Candi Staton on vocals, morphing it into a deep, club-ready cut. What follows is a collaborative remix of ‘My Friend’ from Evokings, DOT and simo not simon, uniting the three Brazilian producers and good friends to create a blissed-out remix that celebrates the unique electronic scene of Rio De Janiero. Our favourite A&R man, Sam Dexter, has been getting back into the studio swing recently. With a dedicated space in Wolverhampton alongside Mallin, the two have been busy creating slow-burning heaters for their Hungarian Hot Wax imprint, and we've been lucky enough to snag ourselves a couple so far for GU. "Caution" is the second of the two and is the strongest we've heard from the Dexter/Mallin studio since "Real Love". Whether this will do the 3M+ streams that "Real Love" did is still to be seen, but based on music alone, we are confident! "Caution" was written and released by Teedra Moses (who most will know from the killer Kaytranada flip of her "Be Your Girl"). On this version, Dexter & Mallin take the original's classy R&B vibe and flip it into a delicious deep house groove with a touch of new school UKG on the side. If you like your vocal house to bump, grab a ride on this one quick. It's a bomb.

Channel Tres

Channel Tres grew up in the Compton neighborhood of Los Angeles. His voice is effortlessly deep, as if Barry White didn't realize he was Barry White. "Controller", Channel's debut single on Godmode (Yaeji, Shamir), took classic Detroit house and reimagined it with the surly attitude of West Coast rap. Pitchfork, NPR, Gorilla vs. Bear, BBC Radio 1, Spotify, Apple, and KCRW were early champions, along with Australia's esteemed Triple J radio, who put "Controller" in full rotation.

In advance of his self-titled debut EP (out July 27 on Godmode), Channel blesses us with "Jet Black", another taste of his unorthodox union of four-on-the-floor and Compton. The song is an oozy ode to the blackest of black, over a ferocious modular synth instrumental that takes cues from industrial and early electro. "I never reply when you hit me/ I'm off the grid you can't get me" – it's hard not to feel invincible when this one plays. The video, directed by cult filmmaker Anthony Sylvester, captures Compton at its most contorted, where barbershops double as churches, where liquor stores become after-hours raves.
