The new release from Bristol cult band Goan Dogs continues to affirm their reputation as one of the most intelligent, emotionally-manipulative bands around. ‘Drifting Apart’ arrives as just another reason to get extremely excited about a home-grown five-piece that effortlessly combine inherent musical ability and a real penchant for subtly jabbing lyricism.

“It’s happened to everyone. The passion, if there was any, just fades. But not in a warm, cosy, knitted-jumper kind of way when you’re left with a partner who is your best friend. Most of the time, the passion dissolves, but it doesn’t sweeten the brew. It’s just gone. So I’ll say it evaporates instead, and wish I’d chosen a better metaphor.”
 
We’ll say that drifting is a pretty passive thing. This is definitely not a song about an all-consuming love affair ending in melodrama. We’ve all experienced that too, to some degree, but those are the exceptions in life. Between the band, Goan Dogs have probably had a fair few tear jerkers in their record collections, but they wanted to inject some despondency into the proceedings. This time around at least.

Musical Background..
I guess it all started from a young age of 4 with my Dad teaching me to play nearly every different brass instrument you can think of, and teaching me to to read music. For me my Dad taught me the best gift of all, which lead me to sit in my room day after day practising and dreaming of one day being in my own band. I joined a rock band at the age of 16 and was the lead vocalist,  continued to sing and play guitar in a few other bands throughout my teens.

I have always had a massive love for music ranging from jazz to rock to dubstep onto electronic music that Im producing now.
I started djing at my local youth club when I was 15, which led me to start collecting vinyl.
I have a big love of collecting old records and use them as samples on some of my tracks

In the last three years I have played alongside Rob da Bank( Radio One), Bary Ashworth (Dub Pistols) The Freestylers, A-Skillz and DJ Format.
I have played at a few festivals..The Isle of Wight Festival 2011 (Disco 2000 Tent and Tangerine Back Stage VIP Tent) V-Dub Festival  2011,,Rhythmtree  Festival  2010 & 2011  And PozFest 2010 & 2011. I also co hosted radio shows on Bestival Fm 2010 & 2011 and Vectis Radio every Friday throughout 2011
This year I was thrilled to win a remix competition  on TalentHouse remixing Killa Kella,s Virus track which will now be featured on their upcoming ep release.
