Biography


MALEHOOKERS - rock and roll band from Zagreb,Croatia formed in 1996. The band was influenced by AC/DC,Sex Pistols,Stooges,Rolling Stones,Led Zeppelin and many others, what is reflected in the dirty sound and feeling in their music. After participating in a couple of festivals in 1996.,the band entered the studio and recorded their first album in english called “Malehookers“ and published by Jabukaton.The album recieved great reviews and two videos were made,Out of control and Dead horses. The next year they recorded a song called Čudna šuma(Strange Forest) which became the official anthem of Croatian rock award Crni Mačak.
In 1998. they released their second album “ Ruke gore,ovo je pljačka“ published by Croatia Records which was sold out. After that,the band broke up.
In mid 2008 singer Jerry Alan Gabor revived the band,but this time with different members.They entered the studio in 2009 and recorded their third album “Muški Svijet“ released by Menart and S.P.O.R.. The album made Top 5 albums of the year by music critics. All the songs were recorded using analog equipement and vintage guitars and amps which resulted with great production. The first single and video was "Zagrebačko zlo“,followed by “Bolje da ovdje ostanemo sami“, “Najgora“ and “Rane“.
In the year 2010 they did a music for the short film “That's life“ by Saša Dodik.
In September they promoted their material in english on Rhubarb radio in Birmingham. Throughout October and November the band did a promo tour in all major Croatian cities called “Broken ribs Tour“.
In the year 2011 Malehookers played as a support to Slayer and Megadeth in Arena Zagreb, Whitesnake and Judas Priest in Arena Beograd, Godfathers in Boogaloo Zagreb and Ian Paice (Deep Purple) on Isle of Murter.
Soon they completed their materials in English.
In 2012 Malehookers organize Anti-Valentine's Day concert in Močvara Zagreb which initiated collaboration with punk-rock legend Sonny Vincent who joined them on stage.
They continue playing throught Croatia and already played couple of biker meetings and festivals.
The band has recently entered the studio and started to work on new material.
Their new album is espected in autum 2013.
