Pappa Kak - Dutch for soft poo, and the origin of the phrase poppy cock, so someone once told me. 
Anyway here's our song about a "magic" mushroom. Featuring some truely inspired lyrics - name checking Cindy C (none more 90's). Recorded on a Fostex 4 track in our garage, you can here the garage door shutting and the end and the tape fluttering throughout.

This song would get several reworkings over the years and by about 2000 it was actually a rather decent track. But here's our wonderful first version. Rushed,, slightly out of time but it has a certain charm.

05 Spongy A HipFungalGrowth

Pants you think you have the best. 
But you wear y-fronts and a string vest.

Well that told you. A five minute long insult based song. 
Highlights: The infectious riff that sounds like an ant falling down the stairs, the wah-wah bridge, that bass line, those pots-and-pans drumming and not to forget the lyrical genius that is an A-Level English Literature exam question for a chorus. Ben ditched the original. What ever that was is lost in the mists of time.

03 Throbbing Temple

We'd been listening to a lot of Alice in Chains at the time. Listen out for the reference!
The riff before the solo is based on a Jimi Hendrix exercise from an issue of Guitarist magazine and the intro a "hommage" to to Joe Satriani's "Day at the Beach".
And a final credit should go to our guitar teacher at the time for helping us with the arrangement during our lessons. Cheers "rAd aD"

The Happy Song

The original recording of the 92 classic - Toolbox. 
As legend has it the lyrics were written during a CDT lesson with Mr Armstrong or Preston. 
The text is purely post modern comic 16 year old humour, highly influenced by Vic and Bob - but looking back has aged less well than their output.
As far as the music goes there's copious quantities of E7#9 splashed all over the place and massive (misplaced?)self belief that we were like the Chili Peppers only better. 
A special musical credit has to go to Konrad Adamczewski for assisting Mike and Dan with various parts sections during guitar lessons. The song is so tied up with so many important memories it's hard to describe. 
If anyone's interested we might still have a cassette available to buy for 3 pounds.
So remember all you dirty love pans... stay red hot.
