Hailing from Bandung, Indonesia, a city crammed with diversity, 
BANANACH celebrates inclusivity through a tenacious narrative with a handful of chaos. A fuzz-driven, energetic post-punk unit, the band consists of Karina (vocal), Mojan (guitar), Fay (drums), and Java (bass). 
Formed as a riot grrrl band back in 2013 by composer Mojan Larasati alongside multidisciplinary artist Karina Sokowati, Bananach has brought forth their presence through a series of DIY stages. Fay Murray filled her position as a drummer in 2014.  In 2018, Java Anggara joined the squad, completing the line up. 
Their songs speak to personal anxieties, criticism towards society, and also their own
vulnerability. Nothing is louder than voicing the thoughts in your mind while throwing your bodies out into the crowd. 
Having toured Germany earlier this year, the band are currently working on their debut album.

Mind Is Light was self-recorded & mixed at the bands own studio in Busan, and mastered by Matthew Barnhart at Chicago Mastering Service.
Lyricist Sumi Choi reflects on dealing with mental health and life’s anxieties, with exercise, nature and acceptance. The band’s signature melancholy is balanced with rays of hope.
The single’s cover artwork is illustrated by James McNew (Yo La Tengo).
The new song is accompanied by a music video directed by Nahee Kim. The band will be hitting various cities in US/CA this July, starting with a live session at KEXP on July 14th.
