Clash Lion co-founders Terr and Daniel Watts have been collaborating for more than a decade. Terr can do everything from epic dance floor tunes to romantic breakbeats to fresh electro. She has a fruitful relationship with Phantasy Records as well as having released on Correspondant and Hotflush. Meanwhile, Watts was part of the electro duo Digitaria alongside Terr and is now a solo artist with credits on Permanent Vacation and a desire to push himself into new musical realms. This new track is a result of one of their latest jam sessions, refined in both Barcelona and Berlin.

Say the pair, "We love the track's name, 'Bring the Future', meaning that we need the future and we need it now, because the past is not enough anymore, and we need a new way to look and deal with things and people, with more social justice, freedom and love."

The visceral track has a retro-futuristic feel with electro-vintage aesthetics. The bright bassline reverberates beneath crashing drums as twinkling synths shine up top. A vocoder vocal adds that intergalactic feel and once it all drops, the floor is sure to erupt. Hailing from the Latvian capital city of Riga, electronic brothers in arms Queer On Acid have had an impressive ascendency over the last couple of years that has included releases for Josh Wink’s Ovum Recordings and Shadow Child’s Takeout imprint. Their remix is more techno-leaning and punchy, with elastic bass and rubbery kicks leaning into the solar winds and sweeping you off your feet for a perfectly cosmic acid trip. Born and raised in Guadeloupe, second remixer Mala Ika is a French artist and one of the founders of the Media Beweird and Label Weirdos Records. She has a fresh indie dance style that shows in this remix. It is an edgy slice of chunky electroclash with pixelated synths, flashes of acid and twisted vocals all making for an intense dance floor vibe. The final original 'Clairvoyant' pairs stiff synth sequences with slapping hits to jerk you into action. The deep space pads add a grand scale as clattering percussion brings the energy and tension that keeps a crowd locked.

The latest addition of Roam Recordings offers three stunning remixes of Berlin based 80s New Wave inspired band Pardon Moi. Following the success of their singles “Addiction” on Emerald & Doreen Recordings and “Inside the Outside” on Nein (which has been featured on BBC Radio) the Berlin duo Pardon Moi consisting of Thomas Freudenthal and James Brook have penned the evocative “Power to the People” along with “Touch2Much” which have been released in original form on 7” vinyl from Hoga Nord Rekords. In the “Power to the People Remixes” EP, Roam Recordings has gathered together a dream team of top remixers - Damon Jee, Markus Gibb, and Curses - who each put their own spin on the originals. Damon Jee starts it out with an an energetic and anthemic version of Power to the People that’s sure to get people on their feet. Markus Gibb moves Power to the People into slightly darker and heavier territory with exquisite production that has become his trademark. Switching gears, Curses takes on Touch2Much and keeps the 80s vibe alive with a stylish upbeat dub that’s both quirky and fun.

All three of these remixes come together in an action packed trio of tracks that will surely be a go to when looking to get the dance floor movin’.

John Parsley has been making an impact lately with his unique soundscapes and catchy left field rhythms. After the success of recent releases on Logical and Sulk Magic the Swiss producer brings two new originals to Roam Recordings to form the Schlanke Socke EP. Both tracks build with a rhythmic fluid motion while maintaining an eerily intriguing vibe. The original Schlanke Socke is an uptempo rendition of this style while Ghost in the Maschine brings the tempo down to add more space.

The EP also sees the return of Tronik Youth to Roam Recordings with an excellent remix of the title track. The Nein Records label boss takes the energy up even further on Schlanke Socke with a heavy percussion workout.

Mexican producer and label boss for Regith Records Otheo also joins the EP and adds a stunning dark disco remix of Ghost in the Maschine.

All four tracks work together to fit different times, tempos, and occasions while keeping with the Roam mantra - a little left of center and always for the dance floor.

Italian producer Dino Lenny is the Fine Human Records label head who has been making music since the 90s. He's remixed huge names like Missy Elliott and Timbaland and has been collaborating with everyone from Madonna to Wu Tang Clan to Seth Troxler & Dixon. He has been named "A wizard of electronic music" by the Chemical Brothers, played live with Underworld, released music on the likes of Innervisions, Diynamic & Correspondant, and is currently signed to Ellum. 

For his debut release on Roam Recordings Lenny delivers a stunning EP titled 'Tokyo'. The original mix showcases Lenny's original vocals woven into a dance balad that could easily fit into a classic set of 80s electronica. The Black Mami remix strips down the original vocal with a hypnotic rendition beating with pulsating arpeggios. Long time Roam alumni Damon Jee returns to deliver a huge remix that elegantly bangs out the original melodies and stylish electronics of the original.

We are all the product of our influences and there is no substitute for experience. Damon Jee is the embodiment of that statement. Over the last 20 years he has carved a career in a very unassuming way, unintentionally writing an exciting new chapter for the global electronic music scene. He is the journeyman who managed to shine brighter by staying true to himself, a musical alchemist experimenting with different sounds to create a deadly new potion. Today, the producer is considered the main exponent of a fresh and exciting new scene many are calling Dark Disco. 

Getting his start in the studio alongside fellow Frenchman Olivier Giacomotto, the duo became main players on the then booming electro house scene with an impressive run of productions on labels like Definitive and CR2. As he started producing more solo works, Jee naturally veered towards his rebellious heritage growing up on nineties rock and industrial bands like Nine Inch Nails, The Pixies, Nirvana and more. The organic appeal of live rock seeped into his productions: distorted guitars gliding atop fat, off-beat and two-fingered picked bass, all framed within a foundation of percussion and drums that carries Damon Jee’s immaculately engineered and distinct sound. The music he released under his NOZZ moniker is especially steeped in this unique and heavy-duty sound: powerful productions which doubles up as heat seeking missiles aimed straight at the heart of any dancefloor.

It was his remix of Pardon Moi’s ‘Power to the People’ that really pushed the affable Frenchman to  a wider audience. It has it all: trance melodies and cosmic chords, a confidant rock stomp coiled with electronic euphoria, and robotic vocals gleefully riding a wave of energetic drums. It received support from the world’s best tastemakers including Solomun, Job Jobse and HAAi, introducing Damon Jee to a brand new audience. 

Today his singular sound can be heard on the underground’s most sought-after labels including Roam, Hafendisko, Suara and Sincopat to name a few. Huge support came in the form of Jennifer Cardini who signed his massive three track Chamaniac EP to her Correspondant Records. Its appeal reaching wide, the EP received support from various corners of the electronic music sphere with a diverse group of DJs from Andrew Weatherall to Chris Liebing to Joris Voorn all getting around it.

The natural evolution of Damon Jee has lead to the recent launch of his label, Critical Monday. The new imprint will explore Damon Jee’s idiosyncratic sound even further. The first release under his Holographic Planes moniker, alongside producer Alvaro Cabana, is a three track dance floor bomb featuring an equally effective remix from Jennifer Cardini. With upcoming releases from Curses, Autarkic, Fairmont, and, of course, Damon Jee, the label is set to become a go-to for those looking to ignite any dancefloor.

Today Damon Jee is slotting perfectly into his role as a bona fide headliner. Years of experience ensures each set is delivered with a confidant ease and professionalism that sets him apart from the rest.
