Ahoy! I’m communicating to you from my crab cave, where I’ve amassed a small factory of equipment and laboratory supplies to dissect, repair, fabricate, and perform surgeries and experiments upon my auditory test subjects. Unfit for the constraints of any institution, I self-educate, intuit and experiment my way through the music universe, questing to grow ever and ever closer to the feeling of true, unfettered, spontaneous yet on-command creativity!
I’ve been assembling my home music laboratory in earnest for the past several years, harnessing elements and knowledge collected over a couple of decades approaching the craft in different ways, as a band member or home recordist exclusively in the analog realm. In 2020 I fully embraced modern production methods and availed myself of the enormously valuable and, in the past, unavailable technology. Now I continue to explore, learn and home-in on exactly what I love to hear and to create, and to open myself up to all the weird and different ways of approaching that. I’ve built a pretty robust little studio setup while trying to maximize every dollar, getting the best ‘bang for my buck,’ and beginning my own DIY acoustic room treatment. I should really emphasize the word “weird” I used previously, as that is something I love in and of itself when it comes to music. Weird, creepy, tense, spooky are all feelings I’ve always embraced from music, and whether or not they are at the heart of any particular piece, they often find their way in at the fringes! All that being said I’m at heart a pop-rock musician, or at least I feel that’s where I often resonate the most, though sound selection and rhythms are highly influenced by Hip-Hop, R&B. and electronic. My goals are to grow my presence throughout the sync licensing and popular listening worlds from right here in my little crab cave, increasing my mastery of all the wonderful musical tools I've acquired and continue to obtain!
