Daydream (Second Edit) - Damon Matsuda

Damon Matsuda is an Artist/Producer (Under the name Fanatics) hailing from Long Beach, CA

Damon grew up with a strong passion for music that strayed from the regular mainstream radioplay. However, he had not recieved any formal training or education in regards to music until he was 18. Self-taught on guitar since the age of 16, he began acquiring basic music theory & skill through his high school marching band, where he played vibraphone and several other percussion instruments. At age 17, Damon joined his high school jazz band at intermediate level, on electric guitar. He often shared a passion for jazz, hip hop, and a silent passion for EDM. On October 3rd, 2010, Damon had a radical turn-around when he decided to get baptized and become a christian, which initially had not affected his taste in music until some deeper biblical study shifted his focus on lyrical content. While he maintained a passion for guitar and poetry, Damon gradually learned piano, as well as basic music theory (formally) at Cerritos College. Going into the year of 2011, Damon made an attempt to write a poem for an open mic night, but the poem had been too structured, not like the spoken word style he had written in previously. A friend happen to play guitar for him while he recited said poem, and thus began his passion to rap. Damon believes that one should maintain an honest, transparent persona through one's own music that accurately reflects their lifestyle, so as to reach fans in need of hope, joy, and love, as such things are only attained in an honest spotlight.
