Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. This psalm passage serves as inspiration for the contemplative new concert band work, although the music is not intended to be speciﬁcally religious or spiritual. The piece evokes a sense of hope in the face of adversity, courage in the way of fear, and healing in the wake of tragedy.

Joy Cometh in the Morning (Band Gr. 3) - Steven J. Pyter

Light and lively best describe this cut-time march that provides a nice "Sunday afternoon in the park" feel. While the cut-time is prevalent, there is a brief section that changes to 6/8 that makes this march different from most.

"Sparkling Light" celebrates the goodness and love of human kind, beginning with uplifting brightness and ending with an unresolved chord alluding to eternal hope.

Inspired by the spirit beliefs of the Plains Indians, "In the World of Spirits" represents the energy, terror and drama in a world of pure being.

In the World of Spirits (Band Gr. 6) - Bruce Broughton

This short flamboyant work is designed as a concert opener featuring a brass quintet and solo percussionist. The primary theme is quite athletic while the secondary theme is quite lyrical. The whole package is an exciting romp for both the soloists and ensemble.

This tour-de-force for solo B-flat clarinet & wind ensemble gives the opportunity to bring in a powerhouse guest artist to perform with your young band. Filled with a variety of moods, from driving to lyrical to playful to romantic, "Twitch" keeps you on your toes!
