Harrison Whitford, a songwriter in Nashville TN, helped me put together a track for my cousin and his fiancé.  Harvest Moon is an incredible song by Neil Young, that will be the first dance at their wedding, really isn't easy to sing. Harrison was able to create an incredible, and emotive original version of the song that I am forever thankful for. Whitford is going to be the first artist featured in The Cover Series I am starting over the next few months. Check out his music; he is truly one of the most talented musicians of our generation. He dictates such familiar experiences to a listener through incredible lyrics that make music feel like a full experience unlike any other. The song Time Will Tell, by Harry, is one of the best songs I've heard, the incredible lyrics it gives the listeners are some of the most complex and beautiful. Music is so rooted in emotion, and Whitford seems to have a total understanding of that. Harrison doesn't write about emotion or the experience that comes from it, but rather creates it with each new stanza. You will no doubt get use to hearing songs from Harrison Whitford, because a talent so incredible and prolific as his will never be overlooked.

This week we decided to get a little bit festive. We are happy to be debuting Estefania Freire's cover of This Christmas. The song is an incredible song by Donny Hathaway which made it an easy decision to release this week. Estefania's voice highlights the incredible melody that Donny wrote, and we thought it would be cool to do a stripped down version of it. This week we are lucky enough to debut a track from Jelly, a surf rock group out of Nashville Tennessee. Will Aiken, the mastermind behind Jelly writes songs that bring the beach wherever they are played. We were lucky enough to record this song at the historic Columbia Studio A here in Nashville, and are stoked with what came from the session. Hopefully this new surf track from Jelly, Lunch,  will keep you warm this winter!

Young Gun Silver Fox are the captains of AM Waves, setting sail towards an isle where melodies soak the shoreline and grooves sway like palm trees. Their route traces a natural progression from West End Coast, an album that cast Andy Platts (Young Gun) and Shawn Lee (Silver Fox) as musical virtuosos of SoCal-infused pop. AM Waves does more than duplicate the perfection of West End Coast. It improves it.

“Kingston Boogie” is the first single from “AM Waves”. The Seaweed Horns join Young Gun Silver Fox as they detour to the dancefloor. Shawn explains the track's genesis, "I was thinking, what have we not done yet? We definitely should get an AOR disco thing happening. I quite like disco. The beat is so metronomic that it allows you to be really sophisticated on top. 'Kingston Boogie' just laid itself out. I call it 'midnight disco.'" 

“AM Waves” will be released as LP, CD, DL and stream on Légère Recordings on May 11, 2018.
