When I came up with my stage name for SoundCloud,
I imagined an old organ grinder with his monkey and money cup,
cranking away on a street corner of an old cobblestone village.
But these days, the street corner was even older, as was the man himself,
along with his old synthesizer. The monkey is long gone, in case you were wondering.

Actually, I was quite surprised when the image that appeared got my glasses and my beard right, and even my blue shirt along with a pocket (where I keep my pocket protecter full of pens and pencils). Heck, it could almost have been my photo.

mais je n'y vois pas mieux.

vu que le porte-plume
se refuse à mes doigts.

J'ai bien peur que la page
ne reste toute blanche

Mais il faut qu'elle s'en aille

Her Echo is a song about memory, loss, and what remains in the stillness.
Soft piano meets a female voice filled with sorrow, depth, and fragile beauty.

All melodies, vocal phrasing, dynamics, and lyrics were fully composed and written by me.

This is 100% my own musical vision – handcrafted, emotional, and real.

This is actually the third version of the song. I felt the original idea I’d roughed out with the keyboard and computer could be more interesting. So I reworked the whole track again (twice) adding several ‘hooks’. These were some vocal ‘stabs’, some keyboard/synth riffs as well as writing ( what I hope ) is a more interesting bass line. I beefed up the drum section too. I hope the fun I had creating it is reflected in the overall vibe of the track. Having said all this, the question is: did it actually work?
