Electric guitars, bass, keyboards (electric piano, organ, flutes, strings, string synth), MIDI drums
A slow instrumental piece, and though composed mostly of major chords and only two minor chords, it still comes off as a bit melancholy. The main guitar part is played on the Stratocaster, and could probably stand alone as it never stops and encompasses many of the melodies, though it's a rhythm track. The lead melody is played on the Les Paul. Electric piano comes in support after the first 4 bars, then gives way to organ before flutes take over for the B-section. This switches abruptly to string synth while the Strat changes to a brighter, spacier part for the bridge. The Telecaster comes in on the left, first with harmonics, then tremolo-laden chords. Two E-bows played in harmony on the Les Paul fill up the second half of this part before leading back to the main A-section. Clean harmonics with tap delays precede a heavier solo by the Les Paul, backed by a string section. This leads back into an extended B-section with the flutes, leading back into the final verse. This features a slightly clip-toned Les Paul for the reprise of the original melody, crescendoing to the end.

The First Time

This November Francis Dunnery (formerly of It Bites), Dave Kerzner (formerly of Sound of Contact), Nick D'Virgilio (Genesis - Calling All Stations) and other guest musicians are putting out a special tribute to Genesis in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the classic Progressive Rock album "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway". The single "In The Cage" will be made available for download this month with a follow up of the entire album expected to be released in early 2015. This special tribute to the picturesque album is done in a "classic rock-meets-modern film score" style combining authentic vintage instruments from the 70s (including sounds recorded at Genesis' studio with engineer Nick Davis) along with a full orchestra. 

The album and bonus tracks feature Francis Dunnery on lead vocals and Dave Kerzner on keyboards (both have participated on Steve Hackett's acclaimed Genesis Revisited 2 album)along with a stellar cast of musicians including Nick D'Virgilio, Billy Sherwood (Yes), Steve Rothery (Marillion), Dan Hancock (Giraffe), Martin Levac (The Musical Box), Nad Sylvan (Steve Hackett) and more!
