We are thrilled to dive into the spring season with a guest mix by the miraculous Brazilian/Danish DJ crew Batukizer.  

Batukizer's sets are composed of hand-picked, infectious dance tunes from a vast collection representing Brazilian sounds from the 60s to the 90s. It's all thanks to their extensive digging trips through the megacities of Rio and São Paulo as well as through South and Northeast Brazil, and the Amazon. They have made a significant contribution to the discovery of amazing and often forgotten Brazilian music through their series of mixtapes and their obsession with finding obscure and rare dance records. Their mixtapes have been shared by The Vinyl Factory, NTS Radio, My Analogue Journal, Discogs, Le mellotron, Gouranga, Kiosk Radio, Music for Dreams, and more.

For VDS, they have handpicked a beautiful atmospheric and spiritual jazzy journey. What better way to ease into the warmer season?

We’re excited to announce Mehmet Aslan as the fourth artist to remix Noema's recently released album, ONE. Mehmet Aslan’s remix is filled with rhythmic textures, playful melodies, and funky electro breakbeats. 

In a world of crate diggers, willfully eclectic selectors and micro-scene experts, few DJs and producers maintain the curiosity, bulletproof taste and unique identity of Mehmet Aslan. Born to Turkish immigrant parents and raised in Basel, Switzerland, a childhood absorbing Turkish music was only the beginning of an esoteric trip down a rabbit hole of fascinating, often unusual music, enrapturing dancefloors with his own record collection alongside his own, equally varied productions.

Noema's ONE is part of an interactive performance installation consisting of music, interactive choreography and stage design, theater, costumes and remixes. In this Gesamtkunstwerk, Noema, tells the story of his interdimensional space explorations, in which he manifests in four different entities. Because of the energetic state of humanity, these entities became trapped in our dimension and now put on performances to re-power their portal, so we can all be interdimensional again! During the performance five actors invite up to 120 people from the audience to join the action. Sun Ra meets Steve Reich meets Larry Levan - imagine it like a “happening” from the 70s.The performance was premiered as the closing act of Garbicz Festival 2022.

The music from One is loosely based on the minimal music classic „In C“ by Terry Riley and consists of 56 melodic patterns, which are repeated and consecutively played from the first to the last. Every player can move on to the next pattern at their own pace. The piece is about 45 minutes long without a break.

Experimenting with a new setup. Using the assignable outs of the Yamaha RS7000 send to two ZOOM MS50G and one Behringer Echo Machine, to get more flexibility for FX.

Created this Dub Techno Loop to jam around. One ZOOM MS50G puts some Flanger and Delay on some drum parts, the other one is for some FX dub chords (Amp Simulation, Modulation, Delay, Reverb etc.). The Behringer Echomachine is for pad sounds to get this nice tape whobbeling.

The BCR2000 is for controlling some basic parameters of the RS7K. Expression (MIDI CC 11) on Channel 1-16 and Cutoff (MIDI CC
