Better Off Dead

47 Seconds' first demo titled "For Love Or Rage" published in or around 1998. This demo was recorded with Basist Gary Christensen and myself before the band was fully assembled in order attract other musicians and market ourselves. As it turned out it was the only official studio recording we ever completed. But it seduced Guitarist, Ed Dutton to join us and got us Drummer, Jimmy Quinn forming a perfect blend of melody, heart and chops.

"Grateful" was written in honor of my amazing wife and very best friend, Donna. I started writing the guitar riff piece shortly before we were married and finally finished the full arrangement in time for a Christmas debut. This piece marks my first solo effort in many years. It's a bit of a departure for me stylisticly - DEFINITELY A LOVE SONG.

My last original band, 47 seconds, taught me the value of honesty in songwriting. Now I can't write about anything but what I truly feel. So, here are my guts, kids.
