Lennon & McCartney's classic from when their songwriting was really, IMO, starting to gel.  The original featured John on acoustic guitar and vocal as well as George on guitar plus an added 12-string, Paul on bass and Ringo on tambourine.  It's fun song to play.

Dan created the simply marvelous theme and development including the mesmerizing bass and Sergio's syncopated latin percussion goodness drives the music forward. Introduction and Lyrics in English

This song was inspired by the images of war that I have been increasingly confronted with on the internet, television, and social media in recent years.
The verses are an attempt to translate the sometimes unspeakable horror of brutally extinguished lives and destroyed houses and cities into pictorial, metaphorical language.
The chorus expresses the longing to stop this creeping wave of destruction and counter it with a profound world peace. A world peace that will lead stray souls, who are currently being seduced by right-wing populist and ultimately warmongering slogans, to return to their true loving, deeply humanistic core selves.
Since the entire song is a kind of desperate plea for more love for oneself and others, I chose Picasso's famous painting “The Supplicant” as song-cover.

Chained and helpless, Raewyn closed her eyes, focusing on the ancient teachings of her people. The rain in the forest, the rustle of leaves and the songs of the birds all came flooding back, calming her mind and steeling her spirit.
Her voice was firm as she invoked the Ancient Ones: "May the Guardians of the Threshold watch over me, and the Light of the Silver Tree guide me through the darkness."
As she spoke, a faint, silvery glow began to emanate from her very being, a light that seemed to grow in intensity as she drew on the power of her Elven heritage.
Tresur Heldros flung the door open, his eyes narrowing and a flicker of unease dancing across his face. "You are strong, I'll give you that," he sneered. "But you are still chained, still trapped. And in the end, you will be mine."
Raewyn smiled, a cold, mirthless smile. "We shall see, monster," she whispered, her eyes flashing with defiance. "We shall see...."
