BBC 6 Music: 10 Years of The Reflex w/ Craig Charles 211120

In August 2021 a whole bunch of Kirbys and Aidan Guilfoyle (an honorary Kirby) recorded a few songs at Rainwater Studio in Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath. It was the first time that Pius Kirby and his 4 sons recorded some music together. We were also joined by our cousin, Peter Kirby and Aidan Guilfoyle. We hope you Enjoy!

The Ballad of Norman is a song that was composed and recorded in Rainwater studio for the end credits of an indie RPG computer game titled "First Reality" created by Brendan Bulfin. The song was wrote by Dan kirby, Colin O Brien and Aidan Guilfoyle. The song was preformed by James Garvey (vocals), Colin O Brien (Drums), Dr Mindflip (Keyboard, synth), Dan Kirby (rythem guitar) Aidan Guilfoyle (Bass, Acoustic guitar) and Colm Rogan (Lead guitar). The song was recorded in early 2015.   

Stars Align - The Ballad Of Norman (end Credits Of First Reality)

Another late night in Rainwater studio playing around with a book about a cycle through Ireland 100 years ago. The track started as an improvised piece with Dan Kirby on Guitar, Damien Kirby on Clarinet and Aidan Guilfoyle on Bass. After recording this unintentional jam the thought occurred to us that we should record some spoken word poetry on top of it. This track is not intended for commercial release, but we felt it was too much fun not to share! All lyrics are from "Rambles in Eirinn" by William Bulfin. This track is dedicated to the newest member of the Bulfin family.
