Part of my electronic/ambient side project "Running Numbers." Written in 1 hour for the 2HTS impromptu comp on August 17th 2016. Definitely needs a lot of work.

Head North (2HTS Impromptu Challenge)

Groovy Rhodes improvisation featuring Moog Grandmother, Eurorack system, Korg SQ-1 and Nord Stage.

Recorded live in one take with some minor effects processing in Ableton.

deep threes (live keys/eurorack improv)

Funky odd-time generative patch featuring ST0 on sequence duties, FMed kick drum/percussion, Plaits in chord mode and lots of Maths.

Unseasonable [Modular Live]

Quick improvisation on Korg SQ-1, Eurorack and Moog Grandmother. Showcasing Intellijel uScale (which I'm still learning to use) and some nice crunchy arps from the Grandmother.

Modules used: Pam's New Workout (& Pexp-1), Plaits, ST-0, 2hp Kick, Intellijel uScale, Maths, Moddemix, Tangle Quartet

Processing: echo/verb from EQD Avalanche Run and some light reverb and compression in Logic.

Modular Improv 7:7:19

Funky little rhythmic patch with some live playing. Moog Grandmother sequence clocked with Pam's. ST0 on bass duties. Pam's for gates (modulated w/one channel of Maths to mix up the patterns) and 2hp kick for percussion action. Using 2hp pluck as a "pad" by sending it through the Grandmother's spring reverb.

August 16th Funky Moog Patch

First in a series of patches/jams with a small number of modules to try and get to know the instrument a bit better.

- Clock & all modulation from Pam's
- Sequence from Korg SQ-1 (in C minor quantised mode)
- Sound source - Plaits "classic waveforms" mode, with modulation of the model selection
- Mixing & light ring mod effect in modDemix, one channel of attenuation from Maths, simple kick from 2hp kick (triggered from PNW)
- No editing, some very light processing (echo & compression) in Logic Pro X

Live manipulation of "duty cycle" & step selection on the SQ-1 to expressively mangle phrases.

Modular Study I

Little ambient lullaby featuring 2hp Pluck, Plaits in chord mode and the amazing new Arbhar on grain manipulation duties. One simple sequence and a few interlinked envelopes from Maths, Ceis and Kinks. Simple sequencing and gates from Korg SQ-1/PNW.

Epic, hybrid cinematic piece featuring full orchestra, dulcimer, various gongs, heavy percussion and a dark, modal string motif.

Evocative, nostalgic orchestral piece in 3/4 featuring soft piano, strings and delicate synth textures. Gentle, mysterious opening builds to a rousing, romantic climax with brass and percussion elements.
