‘Shift into The Rogue’ presents two pieces from an unreleased album Pier Bucci recorded using only one synthesizer for all parts of the entire project - his longtime companion, the Moog Rogue.

Combining his unique musical and rhythmic sense, love for alternative electronic music from the 90’s (particularly sounds coming out on WARP Records at the time), and the technical abilities gained from years in the studio, Pier has crafted emotional, groovy, raw yet nuanced works - inspired by ‘the analogue, alternative, positive, very beautiful music from that time’.

‘After 25 years of having this Moog in the studio, I decided to celebrate it’s 25 years with me by doing an album only using the Moog Rogue. And that was the challenge for me. To do an EP, an album, using only one instrument.

Why the Rogue? Why analogue? Well, it’s a little keyboard. Very simple. Very, very simple. But - and I don’t know how - it is emotional. I wanted to create emotions, and I don’t know.. it was giving me a nice feeling, to be able to make every sound with this Moog.'     - Pier Bucci

This piece is my sign of gratitude towards an artist who shaped my past with his works. That hopeful, magical feeling that was present almost every day was amplified by  @tristam  's music. As you get older you become wiser and more knowledgeable and the magic vanishes. It's like a look behind the curtain, you know how a system works and it loses its mystic charisma. 

But music has the power to awaken memories and feelings in the enhanced form of nostalgia, we only remember the good memories because the worries we had always dissolved, otherwise we wouldn't be here smiling back at the good old days. Unlike film, music doesn't let us experience the past in the form of rational video, but in the form of emotions .The songs are still here inhabiting that magic, like time capsules, like a relic of the past.
