Experimental improvisation with the Catalinbread Echorec pedal with added delay and reverb in Amplitube resulted in the sleepiest music I've yet created.

This is me playing around with a Maestro Echoplex EP-3 tape delay for my own amusement. It was recorded using an M-Audio FastTrack Pro into Reaper running on a PC. The only VST plugin used was the default clean sound of IK Multimedia Amplitube 3 with the reverb turned off. The Guitar was an old PRS Tremonti SE with stock pickups.

I bought this used and heavily reliced Cort P-Bass copy at a local music store for $20 with no electronics or strings. $25 worth of eBay and scavenged parts later, I was amazed at how well it played and sounded!

Later, I picked-up a Fender G-DEC 3 30 amp ($168 delivered!) to fool around with and was amazed at the bundle of free goodies that came with it, including Ableton Live recording software.

So, I found some drum loops and improvised some bass over the top to see how it all sounded.

A marathon noodling session on a Paul Reed Smith Tremonti SE guitar into a Goodsell Super 17 then through an old Leslie rotating speaker assembly harvested from an organ. Toward the middle, I use a few effects including in various combinations a Fredric Effects Green Russian Big Muff copy, BBE wah, Whirlwind Orange Box phase shifter, Cusack Tap-A-Whirl tremolo, and Malekko 616 analog delay. Most of it is just guitar > amp > Leslie, with me occasionally switching the motor on and off.

Demo of a Scholz Research & Development Rockman X100 that I purchased new in the mid-80's. The X100 has four basic settings - CLN2, CLN1, EDGE and DIST. Each setting can be played with Chorus off, Echo off, or both Echo and Chorus on. In this clip I demonstrate each setting with Chorus off followed by Echo off, followed by Echo and Chorus on. The guitar was a PRS Tremonti SE. I used the bridge and neck pickups together for the CLN settings and the bridge pickup only for the EDGE and DIST settings. The static you hear at times is me switching between Chorus and Echo settings. I recorded this in Reaper with absolutely no post-processing.
