I'm still trying to figure out what just happened yesterday, but one is definitely for sure: it was a fantastic night and i really enjoyed playing on this beautiful morning!

Here comes my recording from the Hot Situations event in New York City, US in May 2023.
It was my first time DJing so far away from Germany and I had such a good time. Apart from that, after a week in this amazing city with so many great people and overwhelming impressions - I am more than grateful.

Die bekannte Aussage, sich in der Musik verlieren zu können, trifft bei den beiden Faultieren eigentlich immer voll und ganz zu. Profitieren tuen sie definitiv von ihrem unnachahmlichen Track-picking und den samtig weichen Übergängen, die jedes einzelne Teilchen erst zu einem harmonischen Ganzen verschmelzen lassen. Wie ihr merkt, sind wir große Fans von ihrem Sound. Nicht umsonst fiebern wir jetzt schon einige Monate ihrer Interpretation der Afterhour entgegen, die wir euch heute endlich präsentieren dürfen. ✔️ Was sind eure musikalischen Einflüsse? 

Wir sind Beide von klein auf musikalisch durch unser Elternhaus geprägt.
Dazu legt éner seit knapp 20 Jahren Vinyl auf und Stelze spielt seit Klein auf Saxofon in verschieden Combos und ist mittlerweile seit 15 Jahren an den Decks.
Wir sind absolute Musik Fanten, etliche Künstler/innen und unterschiedlichste Musikstile prägten uns auf unserer Laufbahn. So viele , dass wir sie hier nicht alle benennen können.

✔️ Was macht eurer Meinung nach her eine gute Afterhour aus?

Freunde, Gemütlichkeit und Sets aus den Faultierdisko bzw Deep&Smooth Podcast Serien :)
….Außerdem, irgendwann ist auch mal Feierabend! Faultiere schlafen gern! :D

✔️ Welche Gedanken mögt ihr uns zu eurem Mix mit auf den Weg geben?

Wir erinnern uns gerne an die schönste Afterhour, die wir gemeinsam erlebt haben. Es war éners Geburtstag und wir spielten das Closing Set im Mensch Meier bei Mytic Creatures.
Eine Wahnsinns Stimmung, Sonnenlicht flutete den Floor, eine magisch Energy! Wir spielten das erste Mal b2b und merkten wie gut wir an den Decks harmonierten.
Auch unser Afterhour Sounds Set wurde von aus abwechselnd erlesenen Lieblings-Tracks b2b im Studio des JAZ e.V. Rostock abgemischt.

We proudly present Lara Schicks Interpretation unseres "Igelkarussells".
Auf dem letztjährigen Bucht der Träumer Festival wurden wir das erste Mal auf sie  aufmerksam. Mit ihrer herzlichen Art und ihrer beeindruckenden Musikauswahl begeisterte sie uns im Nu. Seitdem war unser Wunsch, sie auf eine Reise ins Igelkarussell mitzunehmen, ungebrochen.
Lara Schick verliebte sich in Konstanz in melodischen und orientalischen Downtempo und Techno. Seit sechs Jahren begeistert sie die Meute mit ihren Geschichten. Als Organisatorin der Bühne "Walinkula" am Campus Festival in Konstanz präsentiert sie einen verspielten, verträumten und gleichzeitig wilden Stil. So auch in diesem Podcast - Euch erwartet ihr Closing-Set der Walinkula Bühne, das die Magie des Moments einfängt.

Für sie war es ein ganz besonderer Moment - gemeinsam mit Dit:eau und Okuma gestalteten sie den Abend musikalisch. Auch die tanzenden, glücklichen Seelen Besucher*innen beschrieben diese Nacht als die schönste ihres Lebens wie sie selbst berichtet. So, I've been really into music lately and I set a goal for myself to play at this festival in Zurich named Lethargy. It's always a blast and I get to see a lot of my friends there. Yesterday was kind of nerve-wracking because it felt like a do-or-die moment, but my set ended up going well. The only hiccup was when I accidentally dropped my phone in the lake, but luckily the new models are waterproof. All's well that ends well, right? 

Shoutout to Lethargy and all the fantastic dancers. I can't wait to do it again! 

Many thanks to my friend Eve Lyn for starting the show on this sunny afternoon in Zurich. I couldn't have imagined a cooler DJ to play in front of me.

Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Journey Series!

On this edition we welcome Oliver Rottmann (@oliverrottmann)

Oliver Rottmann is born and raised in Vienna, Austria and came into contact with electronic music at the age of 18. Starting from playing only for his closest friends his reputation grew and the locations changed from basement parties to underground clubs. 

In 2015 he moved to New York to expand his musical horizon. A year later he moved back to Vienna and recently after that started to organize parties with his closest friends under the name 'Heimlich'.
 
Since then he focused on Downtempo and electronic world music and also transformed "Heimlich" into a fantastic record label!

I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did!

We are happy that we recorded our Set at the beautiful Creatures Corner Stage in the early morning hours of the Festivals Saturday, the 9th of September 2023. We hope this recording will take some back to this unique festival experience on the beautiful Polish Island, and others who could not be there, can give an impression of how fun it was...
