Our first contemporary release on Avec Plaisir features a stunning collaboration of Munich-based Ly Nguyen and @supersoundglobal's @nicjalusi. We discovered "Laguna Azur" already years ago through our friend Pia and kept playing it in our sets since then, which caused almost ridiculous amounts of ID-requests from audiences all over Europe. So when Ly and Nic agreed on working together on a physical release, we knew this is gonna be something special. 

While the Original Laguna Azur Mix takes you on a motorcycle trip to  a beach bar sipping cocktails in the early 90s (with denim jackets, cocktail umbrellas and the full program), Jalusi's Acid Dub is already starting the party, when the dubby bass hits like we wanna dance into the sunset, watching smiles on everyones faces, rumpled hair from the early evening breeze. 2AM – was it Hazme Sonar or Sueno Latino or the Balearic Eric & Nic Jalusi Dream House Mix – You’re in a sea of hands up in the air when those piano chords kick in after the break. You just want to dive into the ocean for another night swim and shake your drenched body on the sandy dancefloor. A handful of friends remain at the beach in the very moment when the sun comes up and you’ll hear the hypnotizing leftfield dub "My Heart“, lying on the shore, everyone’s eyes turn into the greenish-blue color of a mystical lagoon hidden in the palm forest. A salty taste remaining on your skin.

'Hyperstellar is the moniker of Ruben Benabou, music composer,
producer and sound designer from Paris, France. Like a free-jazz
trumpet adrift, his music is a fragile intersection between

melancholic atmospheric soundtracks infused with a power-
driven electronic music. A vision, rays of light, trapped in the

eternal night of space; drifting away. From a screaming emotion
to a highly poetic distortion, a friction nowhere to be received.
In the late-2010s, his mathematical experiments with music got
him to be discovered by Drexciya’s Gerald Donald with whom he
established a narrow collaborative work through their
experimental Daughter Produkt project with releases on !K7 and
Tresor. Both being obsessed by the scientific approach, Ruben
worked on several conferences on the intersection between
Mathematics, Physics and Music.

Hyperstellar’s dramaturgy and sensitivity are well asked in the film
and advertising industries. Fascinated by the world of film and
images, he works closely with film directors, illustrators and
design studios, with commissions from L’Hôtel de Sully, Paris
Design Week and le Musée des Archives Nationales de Paris,
Dior, Moncler, Lalique, IWC...

He released his first original work, featured on Zone Record’s first
compilation, Interzone. His young style was confronted to
established figures such as Gesaffelstein, The Hacker, Miss Kittin,
or Djedjotronic.

Later on, he released Polaris. Hyperstellar’s blazing start in the
world of electronic music. Released via the iconic electronic trailblazer DJ Hell’s historic label, International Deejay Gigolo Records and The DJ Hell Experience imprint, Polaris is a stellar threat, a sacrificial guide through the night with visuals from Zone Studio and photographies by Alfredo Piola.'

George Hysteric is a jack of all trades and master of many: creating originals and edits on vinyl for over 10 years now, whilst running his own Italo-centric vinyl imprint Mothball Record, and in his spare time designing record sleeves and event flyers.

His unique blend of Italo elements mixed with exotic flavours and the driving force of HiNRG has found it’s way to the much-coveted Munich based Public Possession, Lisbon imprint Ostra Discos, Parisian label Plaisir Partagé, Bordello A Parigi from Delft, cult edit project Bahnsteig 23 and more recently the Los Angeles based Pleasure of Love.

Famed for his vast vinyl collection of ’80s synth and disco oddities, the Naarm-based DJ has made crowds go crazy on dancefloors over many successful tours playing across the globe from Asia to Europe, and in 2023 he played at Panorama Bar for the Italorama party series.

For this mix, Hysteric has dug deep into his collection of electro and electroclash from his pre-Italo days of clubbing and DJing in the early 2000s.
