As the pure'Dance Off' Philosophy, Philipp Demankowski from Dresden has never understood why so many DJs tend to use just one genre to make people dance. Since even the most innovative music is a melting pot of all of its influences in the end, an atmospheric DJ set can be diverse too. This approach is not only important for his mixes but also in Philipp’s radio show UV Funk on Dresden based community radio station coloRadio. Also, he's one of the heads behind Uncanny Valley and its sub labels Rat Life and shtum.

Dance Off is a musical concept cross over clubnight  Started in London’s West End, the often creatively barren centre of the metropolis, in an edgy, and exciting manner hosting a monthly residency at the Legendary venue, The Social.
'Dance Off' is a new injection of original energy to complement the historical ‘Heavenly Social’ run of sessions from nearly 20 years ago that saw the basement of a nearby pub, ‘The Albany’, launch a thirteen week Sunday evening residency with characters such as Andrew Weatherall, Tricky, Tim Burgess, David Holmes, and Justin Robertson, and where, previously the Dust Brothers became The Chemical Brothers at their’s and the club’s 1st London residency.

'Dance Off' is an expression of whatever you can dance to, regardless of genres, it can be everything we call dance music but also all that is contrary. We remain restricted only by lack of ambition, and 'Dance Off' encourages the idea that whether as djs or as artists we can play what we like, & create how we like, to both challenge and cajole the audience into celebrating the dance of life at its most musically ambitious. Naturally, also keeping a good eye on the dancefloor!
