Long running Manchester and Berlin based party 'Lost Control, ’' who hold a NTS residency under the same name run by Black Eyes, bring us the new label Lost Control 2097. 
 
Kicking things off with the ‘Come on Let’s Get It’ EP from Cygnus. Label Boss Matthew Jesus says - “The label itself is our new extension of the portal from the 7th dimension. Specialising in plasma house, sub-aquatic electro and cyber techno all brought back from the year 2097. The first EP is from Texan electro legend Cygnus. We don't need to explain how good he is. We just hope you enjoy the ride of cyber soul at its deadliest. There's even a tribute track to the city of Manchester where Lost Control was born. The vinyl colour is inspired by the acid blood of the xenomorphs from the Alien movies, meaning it's translucent fluorescent yellow.”

The record is mastered by Dutch synth genius Rude 66 and will be released on both Physical and Digital formats.

Friends come first, so to speak. We hold the words of those we hold dearly as gospel, and this EP mirrors that feeling.
After his last release "One" on Room With A View (w/ Detroit Swindle remix) and several contributions to labels like MCDE, Endless Flight or together as Creative Swing Alliance on Wolf Music, Tsuba & City Fly - FACES Records & MCDE labels head honcho Pablo Valentino decide to release what he describes as his first full EP on his own imprint FACES.

"Friends Say So" is a nicely stripped down filter-jam; you don't need much when all the elements are good like this: a haunting female vocal sample, gritty lo-fi beats, a disco loop. Reminiscent of early Shake or the very first Sneak records, this beauty will definatly set the floor on fire.
 
"What Does It Take" sounds like a straight up Shelter anthem from '92 that just got unearthed. Heavy on the 909 and Juno keys, its the kind of late night jam that leaves everybody with a smile on their face. 

On the B-side, "Nuff Thangs" opens up things nicely; lush keys on top of a disco sample set the mood for things to come with "Can't You See", a female diva singing her ass off over dirty-as-hell MPC beats and rhodes stabs. You cant go wrong with this package!

Next up, ProOne79 drops another infectious peak-time bomb with 'Bad On Purpose,' a sonic mind-melter with a filthy acid line, dope samples and funky dance floor oriented appeal... this one's ferociously large. The freshness continues with 'Just Another Jacker', a super catchy ode to all the acid jackers in the place! Mind-melting tasty sonic goodness here from the super creative mind of one of UKR's rising stars, ProOne79. To round off this battle pack is 'She Flashed Me,' a futuristic, tom-filled, throbbing banger with all the bells and whistles, handcrafted with superb automation, moody layering, and intricate percussive trickery. David Agrella launches his own Agrellomatica Records imprint this May with four original cuts entitled the ‘Transition’ EP.

David Agrella is an Italian recording artist, DJ, Producer. Hooked into a music culture at a very early age, David started playing records in clubs in his hometown of Benevento before completing his studies as a sound engineer in Rome. He then moved to London in 2011, where he fast gained a reputation as a prolific selector with vast eclecticism and musical versatility. Hosting a monthly radio show called ‘Agrellomatica’ on the radio station Bloop and experimenting in the studio, David has been manipulating the sound of analogue synthesizers, drum machines and DJ sets alike with a unique vision. Driven by the need to encompass his musical inspirations and background connecting the dots between different electronic dance music styles, he now launches his eponymous record label, Agrellomatica Records.

Title track ‘Transition’ gets the ball rolling with a fluid drum sequence fused with rubbery synths and absorbing pads underneath before the ‘Floor Mix’ adds cosmic energy and dynamic fx to the exquisite original.

On the flip, ‘Third Floor’ features a combination of organic rhythms, shimmering low frequencies, and wavering acid stabs that spiral around each other until the dreamy, electro-tinged number, ‘The Puppets Are Back’ rounds things off with a balance of celestial melodies and deep grooves.

As with all the episodes of this series, the mix is a self contained 2 hour musical journey that focuses on a flow of everchanging moods and rhythms, exploring ambient, downtempo, chillout, house, some videogame soundtracks, some classics and electronica as a whole. Showcasing deluges of techno, breaks and jungle, a 140bpm+ hour mix demonstrates her ability to create a sonic landscape of acid, bass and hard-hitting melodic incantations. zara is also one half of the Canberra based collective Section Seven and involved in the open-air rave focused collective Looney Toones.

Incredibly active within the Canberra scene, with releases for Orbit (@orbit0o0) and Canberra House Social (@canberrahousesocial) over the last 12 months, and part of the bill for the upcoming easter weekend open-air, chm. sunburn, we're excited to release this powerful mix from an artist we admire to open our third series.
