French producer Maga has cooked up another fantastic journey through his uniquely melodic, organic and minimalistic house, while remixes from Kadosh and Nick Warren & Nicolas Rada complete another fine package. 

For almost a decade now, this French creative has explored different sounds and styles with his own fresh perspective. He is a hybrid live performer that certainly pushes the boundaries of risk, and does the same as a DJ. He has released on Stil Vor Talent and Flying Circus, and has also a couple of new releases coming up on several well known labels. 

His excellent 'Trust Me Sometime' is filled with shimmering, skyward melodies that bring real light and spine tingling feelings to his strident, deep house grooves. It is a track that never stops evolving and really journeys somewhere as it unfolds, with well treated vocal samples and whispers adding to the overall effect. 

First to remix is legendary UK pioneer Nick Warren, who has long been defining his own corner of the house spectrum on labels like his own The Soundgarden as well as Soulfooled Recordings, Renaissance and Global Underground. Here he joins forces with Argentinian Nicolas Rada, who is known for his truly musical grooves on the likes of Sudbeat and The Soundgarden. Together they flip the original into a serene house groover that extends out into a twinkling night sky and well into the future on a wave of lush chords and slowly rising pads that lift you off your feet. 

Lastly, Tel Aviv star Kadosh is well known as a gifted producer with releases on highly respected labels like Innervisions, Watergate Records and Stil vor Talent. He adds weight to the beats, making it more playful but keeping the same sense of melodic elegance, with delicate keys doing a cautiously optimistic dance over the infectious grooves. 

Once again here Get Physical Music have put together a heavyweight package of forward thinking house sounds.

Maga - Trust Me Sometime (Nick Warren & Nicolas Rada Remix) (Snippet)

In November 2020, much loved Australian DJ Phil K sadly passed away. For some three decades the Melbourne-based leading light had been not only a pivotal player on the Australian scene, but also an internationally respected DJ, producer and technical trailblazer.

In amongst an astonishing (and global) outpouring of love on social media, Seladors Dave Seaman, a close friend since his first trip to Oz in 1993, wrote:
Phil was a shining light to us all. He told it as he saw it, but always with words of inspiration and encouragement. He had time for everyone, generous to a fault and a joy to be around. His enthusiasm, forward-thinking outlook and thirst for knowledge was infectious. He had an uncanny knack of making you feel better about life just by spending time in his company.

Phil & Daves mutual friend and pioneering Greek electronic producer Stelios Vassiloudis was moved to create a stunning new track in Phils memory. Gone to Heaven is a hugely evocative, moving track, 11 minutes + of blissful electronic ambience.
This fitting tribute is scheduled for release on what would have been Phils 52nd birthday, May 6th. Stels full length mix will lead the package, with the producer saying:
Theres no possible way a mere piece of music can do justice to Phils legacy and influence or even come close to expressing how his untimely passing has affected us all. Gone to Heaven was actually inspired by (what was to be) our last meeting in Melbourne on a perfect spring evening: great food followed by drinks and then a long drive around town listening to an impeccable selection of tunes selected by the man himself. A memory Ill treasure forever.

There are, of course, remixes designed to hit the dancefloors that Phil was so adept at rocking. These come firstly and fittingly from Phils long time fellow ambassadors for Australian club culture, Anthony Pappa and Jamie Stevens and secondly, from fellow Greek and another long time friend, John Dalagelis who all excel themselves with their own outstanding tributes.
All proceeds from this release will be donated to two charities close to Phils heart. The “Echium” title track is a blistering sub-bass monster that drives along powerfully on a bed of ticking hi-hats and chest-thumping kick. Building in momentum, smooth pads and effortless synth lines flow across the 8-minute piece before revelling in a stripped-back breakdown. Picking up the pace again in the third movement, gorgeous harmonic overtones layer delicately across each other, borne of never-ending delay sweeps.

“Stranded” continues the powerful rhythmic narrative and otherworldly sonic landscape before a percussive loop provides subtle melodic phrasing. Shifting synth sequences bisect the left-right spectrum as waves of white noise fall against a rocky outcrop of percussive hats. Melodic lines continue to evolve in delicate patterns into the second half in a sonic palette of sheer bliss.

A sumptuous bassline groove propels “The Chase” through its hypnotic paces, accompanied by a chugging rhythmic backdrop. Simultaneously, gentle synth motifs pulsate in side-chained synchronicity as a rich symphony of sound swells into the second half against a plucked earworm phrase. The result is a dynamic and devastating club-friendly track that is sure to inspire a multitude of hands-in-the-air moments.

“The Serpent” ends the quadrilogy with its rippling sound effects that cascade in spiral patterns against a melodious foreground. Delicate percussive patterns marry with a deep resonant kick to provide a rhythmic anchor, giving freeform synth motifs the opportunity to express a meandering sonic voyage that reaches a powerful crescendo at the midpoint. Hitting its stride again in the third movement with additional melodic sequencing, the result is a charismatic end to an outstanding original EP."

Kamilo Sanclemente - A Rainy Night (Original Mix)

To celebrate our 200th release, El Maestro returns to the label with Soundexile for three huge originals, including one with talented singer Paula OS.

Hernan needs little introduction. A local legend by the time Paul Oakenfold discovered him in the '90s, his smooth, deep style has seen him play all over the world headlining festivals and clubs and helm one of the biggest progressive house labels releasing today. 

Argentinian duo, Soundexile, have been a force in the scene for over a decade. Their partnership with Hernan constantly pushes their musical boundaries, and includes 3 compilations for Renaissance, 2 for Balance, and dozens of original tracks and remixes.

Opening with 'Polymath', sparse drums make way for airy pads and a squelchy bass that drives the track. Arps and hooks flutter around the main motifs adding drama and energy throughout. Next up, 'Futurity' takes a deeper, darker path. Skippy hats and soundscape pads carve out a melodic mind map for the senses. Pure progressive heaven. Finally, Paula OS joins the trio on 'River Flow'. Haunting and joyous, her vocals are the perfect foil for the percussive broken beat framework and 8-bit keys.

A supremely talented artist, Nōpi found himself drawing admiration from fans and peers alike with his "Parallel Words" EP. Originally released in August 2020, the Ukrainian artist now returns to Proton Music to continue the series with "Parallel Words, Vol. 2".

With trademark skill and musical craftsmanship, "Siba" flows effortlessly like the ever-increasing concentric circles caused by a pebble dropped in a still lake. A shimmering arpeggio and deep kick form the foundation for a splendid array of counterpoint melodic layers to entwine majestically over each other, reaching their zenith at the mid-point breakdown. A grooved bassline that makes its appearance in the early stages then hits its stride in the third movement, combining with Nōpi's impressive production work to club-friendly effect. "Internally Awakening" continues Nōpi's penchant for seismic kick and rolling percussive groove as an innovatively cadenced melodic sequence glitters like raindrops across the mid-range. A sustained bassline progression adds spine-tingling emotion as layers of sound build in intensity through cascading repetition and endless delays. The result is a stunningly original track full of poise and grace.

A relatively new artist to the underground dance scene, Nohan is a self-confessed "music lover with a deep fondness for connecting sound and spirituality." Able to harness sounds of the far east into a portfolio of organic house music that has seen him feature on TYBESof and Hoomidaas after an All Day I Dream debut in late 2018, Nohan now debuts on Proton Music. Remixing, Nōpi, the Italian producer's reworking of "Internally Awakening" is chock full of emotion as Nohan utilises the bassline so dominant in the original to maximum effect as it pulsates gently across the 8-minute piece. Core melodic themes glitter in familiar patterns as a driving beat and hypnotic percussion add a relentless stripped back dynamism. The resultant remix is an impressive debut.

Another Proton Music debut sees Lebanese duo Hrag Mikkel & Pambouk combine forces in supremely eloquent fashion. Both successful producers in their own rights with a slew of productions to their name, their collaborative work has found them feature on Ready Mix Records, Kitchen Recordings and Hoomidaas with the "Araqil" musical triptych on the latter, a notable highlight in early 2020. Now reprising their partnership, the Hrag Mikkel & Pambouk remix of "Liquid Week" is characterised by a rich percussive groove and deep kick that provides the backdrop for familiar refrains from the original to make their presence felt. Cleverly using Nōpi's original components to intelligent effect, the track takes a new artistic direction that combines syncopated synth plucks with looped arpeggios and sounds that were previously heard deep inside the original mix, to create a highly original new interpretation.

Two new originals plus remixes from Nohan and Hrag Mikkel & Pambouk create a glorious new set of "Parallel Words, Vol. 2".
