Freshly-minted Scottish label, Unit Two Records, scorches the 2018 underground dance scene with a certified scorcher of a V/A compilation titled Unit Traxx Vol 1. Unit Two turn heads and open ears for a colossal introduction to the space by compounding wide variety of talent featuring artists: Tilman, Lemin, Kerinnis, DJ Oakland, Ceòl, DJ Safeword, Togethrs, Tom Jarmey, Eoin R, Mark Blair, J Wax, Popka and 1-800 Girls. Marlborough-based producer, Tom Jarmey, brings his heterogeneous talent to the compilation with rave roller ‘Workout’. After releasing 2018 summer anthem with Beach Jazz, Tom Jarmey opts for an energetic stomper like a locomotive pummeling through the countryside. Tom uses cheeky piano lines and rolling metallic basslines like coupling rods on a train to simultaneously engine the track. Coupled with enraptured vocals and pulsating lows, ‘Workout’ is a dancefloor heat-check meant for pinnacle moments of the night.

All Bandcamp profits from this release will be donated to Staffordshire Rescue Scotland. If you love Doggo’s, pick up the compilation. Available September 15th 2018.

'STRCTR's latest and greatest EP comes from Ruff Stuff. Italian born, Berlin based Gianfranco “Nanni” Barnaba, is the mind behind Ruff Stuff. His music is rooted in the influences of old school House, Deep and Garage with a propensity to find the newest, freshest sounds. Delivering them in a unique style in the booth, and relentlessly attacking the studio.  
 
He proves that here with Bouncing Hearts, a lush house track that is deep yet driven, with warm synths and crisp grooves. Centurion Voyage takes you on a cosmic trip on rolling drums that get rough with smeared astral chords and bobbling bass. Auz closes things with a more upbeat feel thanks to the rich stabs that bring subtle energy, and large hi hat ringlets that get you up on your toes. Demuja's remix is super cool, with rapped vocals and old school New York chords bringing the magic to a top EP.

Berlin / Amsterdam production duo “Horsemen” are joined for their second outing on BBC by their Norwegian protégé Henrik Villard with a stunning re-interpretation of one of the Eps stand out tracks.

Following their first EP, this new record offers a deeper look into the minds of Horsemen, an exploration on a few differing themes. Something that Horsemen's music is all about – telling a story. Each track is connected to something real.

This record charts a path through thoroughly modern Deep House, skippy hats and groovy basslines drive the record on, whilst their flair for the lyrical touches and the musicality of We Found a Piano and its jackin remix round out another stellar offering.

Maudlin People: "tearfully sentimental people". A new EP by Horsemen.

We start of with “Lucid Drinks”, a vague intoxicated memory of a night out, that illustrates a relationship between the main character's ego and true self, standing in front of the mirror trying to figure out how to take the girl home "the voices, banging drums, and lucid chords fill his heart".

We move on to "Feel Me", fireworks in the making. This track is the one big bundle of joy, overcoming the fear, stepping out and over. Walking forward and proudly look back one more time.

“We Found a Piano” is sensitive a expression of emotion, a feeling of "being completely broken". The piano in the track is from a field recording we made at one of our gigs on this old rusty broken-ish piano. The track carries a feeling of ease and content.

Topping it all comes a reinterpretation of “We Found Piano” from none other than Henrik Villard from Oslo. The young, talented producer from Norway recently released on Horsemen's label (TWO FIVE SIX) and dear god what a tune he has put together for this remix, such a vibe! Henrik really has that "oh I know that sound, that is....." Yes that is Henrik.
