the main track on this release by @deroos. 

this track came to fruition being an experiment to see reach an authentic sound to reflect myself. this whole track is fully composed, arranged, recorded and written by me and it is a true expression of the artistic side of me. 

i describe this a deep ritualistic and mysterious track, with a forward motion, to takes the listener on a journey. the lyrics and vocals represent an emotion that i find hard to grasp at times, being alone, feeling alone but yet surround by energy & feelings all the time. 

this is my first expression within music, i truly hope you enjoy it.

Acclaimed South African talent Floyd Lavine follows the original with a pulsating Afro-laced remix. Erdi Irmak is simply one of the most eclectic producers in the modern deep & melodic scene. The XYZ faithful will have grown fond of Erdi’s work on the imprint thus far, appearing on each of our Oppo projects and presenting a delightful EP earlier this year called Driftwood. As another soaring summer comes to a close, we breathe new life into the Driftwood project with a set of riveting remixes.

Leading the line is Brazilian multi-instrumentalist & producer Maty Owl, who has caught the attention of global dancers through sensational projects with Saisons & Timeless Moments. He takes the reins on I Can Find, crafting a deep groove through swirling synthetics and a revolving bassline. He twists Amega’s vocal chops seamlessly, utilizing them as harmonious elements while the instrumental arrangement takes aim straight at the dancefloor.

Niki Sadeki makes her long-awaited debut on XYZ with her rendition of Rainflow. The Canadian producer & DJ has built deep roots in the scene as a radio host and event organizer, and it’s a pleasure to have our compatriot on the imprint for the first time. She brings an afterhours flavor to her remix, as a signature hook ebbs too & fro while crisp drums blissfully balance the space.

Closing the project is Montreal’s Laure, who remixes I Can Find. She allows Amega’s vocal performance to shine over an easy-flowing groove. They bring incredible instrumentalism and a chilled-out ambiance that feels perfectly at home with Erdi’s original work.

'Next up on Do Not Sit On The Furniture is Wood Drift with a stylish new three track EP, BuzzTap.

The textures on Buzz are superb, with loose percussive patterns overlaid with serene string sounds. The groove is warm and rolling and the whole thing is held together with a vast and cuddly bassline way down low. As Of Yet goes even deeper with the pitter-patter of toms making for a dynamic and propulsive element over the pillowy kicks. More rich basslines come in to help heighten the whole trip and then whispered vocals and smart FX finish in style. Sentimental is the closer, a more broken up beat and lively percussive line gets you moving with chopped up vocals and wispy pads sounding ancient yet futuristic all at once.

This is a brilliantly evocative offering from Wood Drift.'

Richard Dorfmeister (Kruder & Dorfmeister) and Sunshine Recordings label man Heinz Tronigger with multi-instrumentalist Pogo have in the recent years paired up to form a cracking production team.

The much acclaimed “Grand Slam“ album was providing remixes and own productions, tightly programmed jams that lifted up countless dancefloors all around the world.

Stefan Obermaier has been continuously working with Richard Dorfmeister in recent years (their “The Exchange“ album has become already a cult underground dance album) - so it was a logical progression to step into the existing team.

The result is “CANITA BRAVA“ featuring four tracks bringing out the party sensibilities they all love.

“Brazil“ is providing heavy electronic grooves with the smoothness of late summer night while “Woman“ is bouncing on the sublime disco moment.

The mixture of smooth soul vocals and deep rhodes chords in “Never be the same“ turns out to be an instant classic only topped by the bit more rougher title track “Canita Brava“.

The delicate combination of dancebeats and organic soul/disco elements is generating an all over positive feel to lift up your senses – very welcome in these rather difficult times.
