Eichenbaum, the Argentinean producer known for his melodic prowess, has been steadily building a catalogue of tracks that ooze style. Following on from his standout 2023 EP on Balance Music, Eichenbaum drops another gem that’s already turning heads: a progressive anthem backed by remixes from some of the scene’s most promising rising talent.

Sweden’s EMPHI flips the script with a remix that’s dripping in groove. The tempo feels seductive, anchored by a bassline that swings like it’s got something to prove. Add in a kick drum big enough to swallow the dance floor, and you’ve got a certified weapon. EMPHI’s treatment of the original melody is subtle yet impactful, funneling it through delicate synths that float above the mix. The vintage-inspired breakdown resets the mood, only to explode into action for a second round of groove.

Madloch's Sound Avenue welcomes FJL back to the label with the remixes for his previously released "Downlifter EP". Hailing from Rosario and armed with a fresh progressive sound, FJL first emerged in 2020 with a contribution to BC2's 'Novus' collection. Enjoying a rapid ascent moving forward, the next two calendar years saw further successes for the Argentine, with Sound Avenue affiliates 3rd Avenue and Future Avenue playing host to his elusive sound across four Various Artists collections, while Antrim's Or Two Strangers and long-running Japanese powerhouse Mango Alley also became landing spots for the rising talent. Electronic music tastemakers Above and Beyond, Hernan Cattaneo, Mariano Mellino and more were quick to recognize FJL's production prowess and have been steadfast supporters along the way. For the remixes Rodrigo Lapena, Gaspar Aguilera & Manu Pavez and Living Stereo got invited.

Joining the Meanwhile Horizons roster with a standout 3-track EP, HAFT make their Meanwhile Horizons debut with “Flow / Momentum / Rosewood”.

Inspired by “percussion, deep-rooted and hypnotising synths”, HAFT’s aim is to “put all these elements together to create a unique sound utilising various organic melodies.” Through their innovative production work, the US-based duo have hit the underground dance music headlines since late 2017 with a series of stellar Organic and Progressive House releases – sprinkled with a dusting of Electronica – on such esteemed imprints as Do Not Sit On The Furniture, Pipe & Pochet and Armen Miran’s Hoomidaas.

Making an appearance on GMJ & Matter’s flagship label with “Life in Motion” on the “Meanwhile Excursions, Vol. 4” compilation in September 2024, HAFT now take their Meanwhile Horizons bow. Opening proceedings, “Flow” builds on the percussive flow and bassline energy so pivotal to the duo’s sound. Replete with fizzing hats, whip-cracking kick and rolling groove, an array of effects and sounds add to the aural intrigue before smooth pads and filtered arpeggio create layers of melodic majesty. Coming to the fore at a stripped-back breakdown in a club-friendly pause for breath, the track picks up the pace in the second half as the rhythmic and melodic collage combine to devastating effect.

The aptly titled, “Momentum” creates an exquisite music odyssey as a gradually evolving rhythmic landscape adds layer upon layer of sound creating a rich sonic playground by its denouement. Ticking hats and rolling bass pattern then vie for attention with thickly textured pads and plucked melodies that filter in and out of sonic range. Waxing and waning through its different phases, the track finds a stereo-panned motif taking centre stage in the final act to create a work of stunning dancefloor prowess.

The final track sees the mellifluous tones of “Rosewood” quickly creating a subtle melancholic atmosphere. A subterranean bass adds heft and gravitas as an immaculately syncopated synth phrase creates groove aplenty in the second movement. Rippling arps and counterpoint pads add to the aural depth, as does a perfectly placed vocal motif at the breakdown. Hitting club-friendly heights once more in the latter stages, HAFT’s production skills are on full display as “Rosewood” reaches a smooth and blissful conclusion.

Characterising a unique and powerful sound that transcends the progressive house genre, HAFT have shown why they are such respected figures with their “Flow / Momentum / Rosewood” EP.

A new collaborative pairing to grace the Meanwhile catalogue, Kasey Taylor and Gai Barone embrace the musical talents of Wilma on their twin-track “Passing Over the Clouds / Soul Mystique” EP.

Hugely respected figures in their own rights, Kasey Taylor and Gai Barone account for almost 1000 production credits between them. Featuring on the likes of Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, John Digweed’s Bedrock and Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden, Kasey is a genuine legend, not least through his own hugely influential Vapour Recordings. Similarly impressive, Gai is able to add releases on Tiesto’s Black Hole, Markus Schulz’s Coldharbour and John 00 Fleming’s JOOF, to the mix with almost a century on Elef Tsiroudis’ Afterglow Records.

After Gai Barone remixes of Kasey Taylor’s “Simplicity” and “Mysterious Madness” in 2021 and 2024, the Australian/Italian axis saw a first collaborative EP appear courtesy of “Distance Between Us / From Afar” on Afterglow late last year. Now combining with classically trained cellist, Wilma, the Australian musician has found herself much in demand with “25 years devotion to her art” and releases on the likes of Stone Seed, Beat & Path and The Soundgarden. With an all-encompassing sound that bridges underground house, melodic techno and electronica, Wilma has lit up dance music in the 2020s.

Opening with a fizzing percussive top line, “Passing Over the Clouds” is an immaculately conceived offering that quickly sees an array of twinkling arps, pads and synths sitting atop a sub-bassline and rasping analogue variation. Evolving with a kaleidoscopic pattern of effects, the various melodic elements come to the fore in a breakdown that blossoms with the introduction of Wilma’s exquisite and free-flowing cello. Intertwined seamlessly with synth phrasing in the latter stages, the final movement drops back into familiar rhythmic patterns.

Partner track, “Soul Mystique” continues the majestic melodic narrative with flowing synth patterns, harder-edged arp patterns and twinkling piano combining to magical effect. Pausing briefly in the early stages, Wilma’s coruscating cello weaves an emotive sonic tapestry that fits perfectly within the surrounding musical palette. A multi-oscillator bassline adds range and rhythmic cadence in synchronicity with a thumping beat and ticking shakers to provide a sublime dancefloor structure to mystical melodies that envelope the listener.

Floating skywards with serene beauty, Kasey Taylor, Gai Barone and Wilma have reached new heights with “Passing Over the Clouds / Soul Mystique”.

Last year a tune that I absolutely loved was Kolter's Remix of "Horse With No Name" originally done by the band America. If you haven't heard this fantastic remix, head over to my "Elevated Frequencies" mix where it comes in around the 34 minute mark. You won't be let down!!

Seeking inspiration from it, I was wanting to remix a solid gold oldie myself. Shortly after setting this intention I was in the car and "Sundown" by Gordon Lightfoot came on, and there was the "ah ha" moment. 

After working on this for a little while, and testing at different gigs, I thought I would put it up as an edit. With festival season 2025 coming into full swing, you can get yourself a copy by dropping a comment and I'll send it your way. 

A new twist paying homage to an incredible artist I grew up hearing in the house all the time. This atmospheric house reinterpretation is inspired by his classic storytelling and timeless melodies with a steady 4 on the floor added, and some unique twists & turns. 

Created for DJ sets and private listening. No commercial intent — just sharing a personal tribute to a legendary artist.
