We are really grateful to hot an another fantastic cosmocast from K + E, straight from London city.
K + E are a duo based in England, who became friends over their shared love of aubergines on a summer’s day in the marshes of East London. Kim is a visual artist who makes visceral abstract paintings and Ely is doing a PhD in Linguistics. Recently they embarked on a sonic journey together, collecting musical ingredients from around the world to tell stories through slow-cooked sounds and deep groovy rhythms.

'' From London with ♡ '' is a gently simmered mixtape for Cosmovison Records which takes you on a bus ride across the absurd, diverse, mysterious and magical city they live in. Sit comfortably and enjoy the view.
'' It took a while to come up with the title, but after listening and re-listening, we felt that this mix really had something to do with our experience of London, and this title just kept floating up in our minds. Something about the madness and multiplicity of life in this city, even though most of the music does not specifically come from here by origin, but then that's the beauty of London, where origin melts into the mix of everything that is around '' K + E

Im vorletzten Podcast meiner Serie habe ich mal eine Künstlerin gewählt, die mal nicht hinter den DJ Pulten von Partys steht. Hekske hat eine unglaubliche Leidenschaft für den Downtempo entwickelt und nennt sich selbst die 'The Bibi Blocksberg of the Downtempo Scene'. Neben ihrer grandios kurierten Podcast-Serie „The House Witchtapes“ spielt sie seit 2017 regelmäßig für diverse Podcast-Serien Sets ein und macht dies mit unheimlicher Akribie und Hingabe. Und wie das mit den Hexen so ist … ein bisschen Magie ist irgendwie dabei auch immer im Spiel. Keiner ihrer Podcasts gleich dem anderen … immer wird für die Reihe eine ganz speziell passende Stimmung erzeugt und in einem wunderbaren Flow vermischt. Podcasting in Reinform.

Liebe Hekske tausend Dank das du als Hexe meinen letzten weiblichen Podcast einspielst. Mein Konzept mit 50/50 Podcast hat übrigens super funktioniert und ich kann allen Reihen empfehlen es evtl. auch umzusetzen … ist gar nicht so schwer … es gibt genug tolle Künstlerinnen da draus und es werden immer mehr … aber nur wenn man sie aktive supportet.

This is the third episode of a true story of a school trip to a lost world… East Germany just before the wall came down… (episodes 1 and 2 in Witchtapes 46 and 47)

We were happy to leave the town Erfurt behind us, where my classmates and I had spent our very first night on the other side of the iron curtain.  For all of us Erfurt was an eerie ghost town with empty streets, covered in thick fog and the air was so polluted that some of my classmates even had trouble to breathe.  On top of that, the hotel was a shabby place with brown tap water and horrible food, including a murky substance which was supposed to be yoghurt (which I ate but most of my classmates went on a voluntary hunger strike, probably hoping things would get better the next few days).  Actually, we felt so uncomfortable in Erfurt that we all wanted to go back to Belgium.
It was a long and shaky bus ride from Erfurt to Dresden in the outermost south-eastern corner of the German Democratic Republic.  Actually, we rode on a very bumpy concrete highway which had been built by the Nazi regime in the 1930s and hadn’t seen much repairs in the next 50 years.  The mood of the schoolgirls was getting better while the sun started to shine.  And we were slowly getting used to the sight of all these primitive Trabant cars on the road.  But when entering the City of Dresden, something broke down in the front suspension of the bus (it turned out that it couldn’t be repaired in East Germany, which meant that a few days later the bus would crawl at a slow pace from Dresden to Berlin before finally getting the much-needed repairs in West-Berlin).  When entering Dresden, I was shocked to see that there were still some buildings in ruin and visibly blackened by the allied fire-bombing of 1945, which was already 42 years earlier.  
Luckily, after getting out of the bus it became immediately clear that this city was a surprisingly vibrant and pleasant place.  Up to that moment, we didn’t interact much with the locals.  We thought that was pretty normal in communist countries, where people from the West (even 17 year old schoolgirls) were regarded suspiciously and we thought it was more or less forbidden for the locals to talk with tourists from the West.  And we also believed that the population of all communist countries had been brainwashed with propaganda, so I couldn’t imagine that it was possible to have a pleasant conversation with the locals.
Luckily, in Dresden we quickly found out this was not the case.  To our great surprise, the local people were really nice and friendly towards us… and visibly warmer and more laid-back than the West-Germans.  Their mentality was even pretty similar to the Belgian style, so it was very easy to connect and we chatted (in our broken German) with lots of lovely and sweet teenage girls and boys, who were apparently very eager to get in touch with foreigners.  This made our stay in Dresden very pleasant and all the Belgian schoolgirls started to feel very much at ease.  The hotel was way better than the one back in Erfurt and although they also served the same peculiar substance named ‘yoghurt’, all my class mates finally got hungry again and spontaneously gave up their hunger strike.
The town of Dresden was really beautiful, at least the part of the historical center which had already been rebuilt… some old building were still being reconstructed while the most famous church (the Frauenkirche) was still a pile of rubble back then.  Actually, reconstruction of this church would only start after the reunification of Germany and fortunately this beautiful monument has now been fully restored in all its glory, symbolically completing the rise from the ashes of the beautiful and vibrant city of Dresden…

Black Rock City and her elements are bigger than any of us, ALL OF US, and she has something to show you.  It is not until you're stripped away from your comfort and 'normalcy' that we become truly one.  Infusion of music and the many sacred spaces connect us. Suddenly, all that was designed to make us feel divided comes crashing down; blurred into total insignificance, as the moments grow increasingly PURE and RAW, give us unlimited POTENTIAL.  

This same wakeup call is happening for all of humanity to see and feel right now, as our Earth attempts to mend, and show us how delicate and singular we truly are as a human race.

We encourage you to use this time wisely and keep the vibrations high and the music loud.  Now, we are together more than ever, despite our physical distance. Allow yourself to reprogram to your fullest potential; resist programming.  Take notice of the air and the water clearing up all around you.  Let the music flow and we will see you soon around The Kazbah.  Promise us that! 🌎❤️🙏🏼

Es ist wieder an der Zeit zusammenzukommen und zu tanzen....

Manche von uns können sich wieder treffen im Realen...
für Andere ist dies nicht möglich, weil sie auf der Flucht sind, weil sie im Krieg sind, weil sie kein Zu Hause mehr haben, weil sie ihr Haus nicht verlassen dürfen oder können, oder aus anderen Gründen nicht zusammenkommen können oder dürfen.

Aber wir können überall tanzen, in unseren Gedanken, mit unseren Körpern, allein oder mit der Familie,  den Liebsten - zuhause, auf einer Sommerwiese, am Strand, auf einem Berg, in der Stadt, auf der Strasse.

Es ist so wichtig zu tanzen, zu singen und zu lachen!

Und auch wenn wir uns nicht alle zusammentreffen können,
sind wir trotzdem vereint. Auch wenn wir so unterschiedlich sind und manchmal andere Meinungen haben, gehören wir zusammen!

On the 6th EP of Mousike Records; DJ Nirso brings two very distinctive songs connected through their African-American musical roots.

The title track of the EP “Benção” has drums and percussions that resonate deep into the African influence of Brazilian culture and at the same time brings an introspective feeling through its electronic elements and repetitions. Second song “Cumbiastatke” is a mix between Cumbia, the latin-american rhythm that has it's roots deep into Africa, and Ethiopian modern music, with strong and profound melodies played in mysterious oriental scales.

Benção will be out on July 31st with Borchi and Santi & Tuğçe Remixes.

La idea de este nuevo disco fue la curiosidad de Bellido por sentir lo que emerge desde la reinterpretación de otros artistas respecto de sus canciones originales y poder experimentar, según indica el músico, “cómo estos sonidos se amalgaman con otros artistas de distintas latitudes de la tierra”.

Es por ello que Chakana Remixes trasciende a la idea de “nuevas versiones”; integra la necesidad del joven músico peruano de volver a experimentar con nuevos sonidos y sensorialidades propuestos por otros artistas. Así, la búsqueda nace a partir de querer vivenciar, tal como propone Bellido “cómo estos sonidos vernaculares los entienden otros productores, que están muy abiertos a muchos estilos”, integrando, por ejemplo, el disco, el global bass, el downtempo y el house. 
 
En la reinterpretación de las canciones originales participaron músicos de diversas partes del mundo, tales como Nina Simmons (Italia), A-Tweed (Italia), Juan Correa (COL), Tribilin sound (PER), El Extravagante y Sistema Beat Andino (Chile), quienes hicieron un trabajo detallado y desafiante, ya que los temas originales del disco Chakana ya representaban una gran complejidad y virtuosismo impuesto por Bellido en un disco original profundo, con un imaginario potente de significados y conexiones ancestrales e investigación sobre sonoridades propias de diversas zonas de Perú.
