This was a re-record of a mix I played for friends at my house to inaugurate the soft F&F launch of Dance Free. A brand to cover future projects concerning our contribution to dance music.

This set was so fun to play out in such a friends & family setting. It was my first time behind the decks in front of a sizable group of people. Here I wanted the opportunity to showcase some dance music sounds I've been blessed to come across.

This mix contains sounds from all over the place across many eras. Referencing sonics from 90s rave to blog-house, baile funk and speed garage, all the way to Hessle Audio, VOAM, Livity Sounds and Hemlock.

There's also quite a few more tracks near the tail-end of part 5 hat I didn't get a chance to play on the night. Have fun. It's a lot of jungle.

Mixed this up over the long weekend. And you know what? Let's rein in the regular programming from here. I'll be uploading every Wednesday for the next few weeks... maybe even more.

Been in a really percussive, drummy mood as I've been listening to a lot of Pearson Sound, The Maghreban, and Ploy lately - so wanted to give you something at a BPM that makes these percussion-forward tracks more fun to play. Then ended it on a fun madonna edit that felt like an "easter egg" in the context of all the other tracks. 

Also wanted to take this time to keep you updated. I've been feeling a lot more rejuvenated inspiration-wise. As a result, I've been really meditating on the idea of what Dance Free can offer.

I'm hoping to share something other than future mixes soon.

Dance Free w/ Aceg One - Easter Long Weekend (1st April 2024)

This one was fun to put together. Some dodgy mixing here and there as i was multitasking in the background at some points. Hope you like the selection and apologies for the late upload! 

I guess this is the first regular programming mix of the Dance Free Radio Show.

Aceg One - 17th April 2024

For some reason this mix reminded me of my Europe trip. Maybe because discovering Hessle Audio at Printworks in 2022 was too much of an eyeopener. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have started this and my interest in dance music would not be as piqued as it currently is.

Ended this mix also on one of my most favourite tracks ever by Skream, mixed in from one of his "newer" tracks from the 'Unreleased Classics Vol.3" release.

Chucked in a sneaky Aphex Twin track too for the fun of it.

Anyways. This was fun to mix as always, hope you had fun listening too.
