This year's Black Rock Hoe Down almost didn't happen for me. Thankfully due to moving up the Hoe Down to Wednesday this year I was able to play at what could be my favorite Hoe Down I've been to as well as hauling my ass off the playa on no sleep Thursday to trek back home to San Francisco and then travel all day Friday to northern Michigan. 

It was all worth it. Along with the usual array of generator, sound, fm transmitter issues. Nobody panicked but there are times when you look at people ready to let loose and only the monitors and 2 of the array of speakers are working (and none of the subwoofers) where you wonder if its going to come together. The generators, speakers and fm transmitter all commenced working around the same time and all of a sudden the Black Rock Hoe Down was in full effect. 

For me riding up and seeing the Mog in deep playa under the desert moon has always meant breaks. Big, badass, booty shaking breaks. It's a bit of a change from what I usually play these days. Hope you enjoy the nod to the past with current tracks.

Inspired by the iconic deep house classic Break 4 Love, this project fuses sensual Urdu poetry with playful nods to Pakistan’s most beloved wedding dishes — biryani, nihari, haleem, karahi, seekh kebab — turning love and food into one hypnotic mantra.

The original mix captures the warmth of 1983 New York house, while the  Indo‑Warehouse remix adds cinematic tabla, reverb‑soaked pads, and dark underground energy. The South African remix strips it back even further — minimal Afro‑house grooves, deep log drums, and whispered mantras drifting over spacious percussion.

This is more than a song; it’s a lifetime of dancing condensed into three versions — three years together, twelve apart, five reborn, and a lifetime still to come. A feast for the heart, the soul, and the floor.

Hello everybody!  Here's my mix from The Glitter Ranch Saloon at the 2017 Oregon Eclipse Festival this past summer in August!  Full of funk boogie breaks and house, with a litttle extra cheese sauce cause dammmmnn those Dumplings were good!!  This was an impromptu set, off the cuff and full of some of my favorite boogie down tracks throughout the years! This is a musical journey that has been created for my Dad as a Father's day gift.  Music is how I express my self and I wanted to put together what best represented where it all started. This is the music that I grew up on with my parents and that easily has the largest influence on my music career.  I'll always remember foot tapping to classic rock on the way to hockey when I was a kid. Cruising down the Deerfoot with the windows down on a sunny day.  My father is one of the nicest most humble men I know and the best father anyone could ask for. Thanks for everything Dad.  I hope you all enjoy this journey.
