I am extremely happy to share this mix with y'all. I have been on a new journey with spinning records the past 8 months that has shifted me in ways that I cannot truly describe with words, but this mix says so much about my journey navigating through emotional pain, through my own doubts about myself and my craft, and lost hope. I was a bit weary about spinning 3hrs of records on the Nowadays system because it is a beast that must be tamed in many ways, and even though there were some technical difficulties with the turntables and sound coming out of one channel at moments (hence the first 15 min are cut) I was able to push through those hurdles and commit to playing records the rest of the set. This mix has taught me that I need to let truly let go of baggage and perfectionism. There are moments in this mix like the Hex Hector x Deborah Cox mix of "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here" into his mix of Mariah Carey's "Through The Rain" as well as Junior Vasquez's remix of Charlotte's "Skin" that encapsulate my urge to finally break free from my pain. I want to thank everyone who has shown me an immense amount of love and support for what I do, and especially those who have reminded me how important the work I do is.
